Just finished watching the E3 movies and..A constructive complaint.

I'm not going to flame, just give what I feel IMO about the demonstrations recorded at E3 by people.

Darkfiend High Quality movie showing the tutorial and some scenes after. Maybe it's just the crappy camera control or the idiot who doesn't know what he's doing (The one playing) but I see some things that I didn't like.

Although I am sure they'll be fixed later they really were annoying me.

First of all, the combat.

A) When the guy attacks the two rats on the boat, it was quite annoying to see the character attack them while facing 80 degrees the in the other direction and basically playing an attack animation at empty space. First one wasn't too bad but the second rat was almost complete to the side of the char and impossible that it could of gotten hit by the blows (Once again, this is a graphical problem that kind of makes me feel that the person was not really fighting anything).

So that wasn't too bad, I know that will be fixed pretty much, but.....

Then comes the last ones of the scene where they are taking some big daemons that looked like Balor from BG series. What in the hell is up with the warrior ogre? Just watch him in the distance. The attacks were so repeated it wasn't even funny.

Now comes the big dragon in the end. How cute, once again the dreaded ogre was back in action swinging his weapon. But what! No contact? He was at least 2 ft from the dragons chest/belly while he was making slashes. I'm sure if you stood at the side between them and watched that there'd be a huge gap that could fit 2 people in there.

Also forgot to mention the little troll thing that escaped on the boat, once again the combat was aimed completed away from it while it was getting hit. Now back to running in 3rd person mode.

Watch it again, there's a nice slide effect and the running animation is not in sync with the movement. Hopefully that'll be fixed.

Now back to the captain pulling out the club from his pants. Geez, I thought it'd be a bit more realistic then this. The club was at least over 1 and a half feet long and  he quite thick. He just pulled it out of nowhere and stuffed it back into no where. These little touches are not so important for some but that was just so laughable and unrealistic. I've seen this in many games before and was hoping the EQ2 would change that by adding some extras animations to create more immersion.

Some with the helm on the dwarf. Wow, it just appears instantly on his head. I guess the appearing of items on NPCs aren't really a complaint from me. It won't stop me from buying/enjoying EQ2 but I hope in the future sometime that a game will offer some better realistic animations. If the little dwarf dude had the helm appear in his two hands and he put it on manually would make you feel right at home. Anyway that's all my complaints.

Basically the combat melee system looks crap so far.
