C'mon OP ,seriously get over the 'Wow' syndrome. I played EQII from launch up to about 2 years. Left EQ II for WOW and have been playing for over a year. I had a pretty good ignore list going playing EQ II and so far in WOW I have absolutely zero. Guess it all depends on the server you play on eh ?
My experience with EQ2 was that whilst the chat was less outright "immature" in a kind "UR MOM LOL" way than WoW, there were a hell of lot more people trying to "enforce" their ideas and ways of playing on other people in EQ2 than in WoW. The amount of "hate" I saw directed towards various classes and "specs" of classes in EQ2 was pretty stunning. It's kind of upsetting when you join a game, play a class because it sounds fun, and then have to hear spammy nonsense in half the zone-chats about how "Everyone who plays class X is a lazy noob lol". I guess it's because there are so many classes in EQ2, it's easier to single them out, and a lot of people on the server (and I admit I forget which) I was on seemed to seriously get off on it.
I really enjoy EQ 2. I like how I can solo. I have not been prevented from soloing yet, although I have not done a Heroic Quest yet.
EQ 2 growth, I am not an SOE employee or privy to real numbers, must be significant. Since I started playing, the community has really grown, at least on Antonin Bayle, in a very strong way. Nevertheless, the community atmosphere, the discussion in the level 1-9 channel is getting really immature. In fact, people sound very ... well, arrogant and stupid simultaneously. It is simply starting to sound like WoW.
Are any veteran EQ 2 players noticing this? Do any have a thought on this?

Master truenorthbg, surely you have played MMO's long enough now to know that that simply is a tale told from those of little wisdom. I doubt seriously, my young master, that you would fall into the category of the narrow-minded?
Just because you happen to read some posts that sound immature or out of place please understand that it surely does NOT reflect the spirit of ALL gamers of that which you seem so upset.
Simply put, Master truenorthbg, you must keep an open mind and show more restraint before making judgement based on a few. Meet those of us that have played both WoW and EQ 2 first then, sire, guage your feelings from that!
