Is there collision detection in Conan ?

What I didn´t like about many MMORPG´s of the past is, that many characters can stand in the same place "in each other" and fight.

For my taste this is a major turnoff.

Does anyone know if Conan will let us fight shoulder next to shoulder or if there will be a stupid all-in-one place hack...

Who has got news ?

Thanks in advance

Not sure if AoC will have collision detection, but I really hope so.

I will check the official site and see if I can't get an answer on this.

I believe the stated the it would have collision detection. Mainly because of the sieging aspects of the game required it. Not to mention that  weapons can hit multiple if their too close together. Their main site has a lot of info it may be there.

Well i figured the collision aspects of mmos was turned off because of end game raiding. If a mob takes 50 people to kill kind of hard to get tanks around the mob if they cant run into eachother. I know on EQ before Luclin expansion it took that many people to kill high end mobs and im sure it still does just dont play it dat much to know that answer.

Well not necesarily, In lineage when trying to kill the game's boss (antharas) the amount of people can reach 300, and the game has collision detection. Its not that hard, you just cant have people who arent melee stuck in the face of the boss.

Well, I watched a co-worker try to run around a mob the other day...

Of course, he wasn't very careful and ended up colliding with him--somewhat shifting to the side in the process--and falling off a cliff to his death some 50 yards below... So, yeah, I'd say it's working.

The idea of fortress sieges and using formations has me drooling over this game. I hope it delivers when it releases cuz i called in a weeks vacation starting its launch date lol.

Most MMOs turn off collision detection for characters to prevent specific individuals from blocking key points and spoiling the area of the game for the rest of the players around. As-well as clogging up major cities when a specific server reaches "Heavy" or "Full" status and about 100 people are all in after the goods vendor to sell their useless crap and loots.

However, maybe AoC will incorporate detection but also play smart with it.. a'la only activating it in cities or something.
