Well part of the problem is that that's the Brumak, which isn't actually in the 360 version of the game except for a very short, non-interactive sequence. They didn't put a lot of time into him for the 360 and he is unequivocally the worst looking mob in the game for 360. Also, are you REALLY surprised that the DX10 version of the game for PC looks better than the 360 version? The console is a year and a half old, and I guarantee the PC that took that screen isn't even half that.

Also sometimes Gears of War on the 360 has a texture loading "bug". So that high res stuff isn't always loaded when it should be loaded, giving you certain moments where parts of the game are covered in the Lod textures. This seems to have happened to this guys face in that shot.
But of course the pc version looks better. Pc games always look better than their console counterparts, in most cases unless the port is really terrible.
Slightly off topic but i wonder what PC games will look like when 8 core processors with dedicated graphics and physic cores come out
But yea to the OP the problem with consoles is that the hardware doesant get better with time it stays the same unlike with PC's which are always cutting edge.

How many of these anti-360 pro-PC post are you going to make, seriously? Just let it go, sport.
Lets also not forget, that the 360 is only $300-$480 and produces these graphics (which are good, you implying that Gears of War on the 360 looks like shit, makes you look like shit), whereas the PC that produced the graphics of the given screenshot, undoubetly cost anywhere between $1600 and $3000.
As of right now the 360 and the PS3 are without a doubt the best bang for the buck when it comes to price to performance ratio for gaming. A video card for the PC that can produce the same quality graphics and a reasonable framerateas comparable to the the 360 or PS3 cost more than the 360, and a little less than the PS3. And thats just 1 fucking component. This is why my beast PC is on ebay right now and im downgrading to something reasonable. With the PC games market in a forever coma, and nothing good on the horizon, ive been playing my Wii alot and PS1 and PS2 games on the PC with emulators.
What im saying is, your attempt at 360 bashing has failed. You can now move on and attempt to shit on the PS3 and the Wii next, chose whichever floats your little boat.

The 360 was next gen. It's been almost 2 years since it launched. That means it is time for the next gen which will only be on pc and same with the generation after this one. The screenshots you showed is an example also look at Crysis.

Honestly how long do you think Next Generation will last? The Xbox360 is what 2 years old now? And you want to seriously compare it to something that hasn't even come out yet?
Note - I don't even play console games, I bought a Xbox360 and returned it because I found it to be a waste of money for me. I own a Wii that I got for last Christmas but we really only use it for party games and to play with the kids. That may change when the new Mario game comes out though.

Crysis looks good, but the only 3rd person shooters I like are Metroid Prime, Republic Commando, and FEAR.

Why would I spend $400 for an outdated gfx card when for the same amount of money you can buy a newer one?
Let's not forget that you can hook up a 360 controller to your PC. My 360 is better then the ones that MS is selling.

I think the fact that this is the year for PC games shows just how much the PC gaming market is in a coma. How many EXCUSIVE PC titles are comming out this year? a "The year" for pc gaming is an average year for a console after its first year of release.

Personally, I could give a fuck about graphics. I think it's more to do with some of the more vocal console jockeys constantly doomcasting the pc gaming genre.
Fact is, neither one is going anywhere. Last I cared enough to check, both pc, and console games were making a fuckload of money.
I like both, personally. I still play Shadowrun, and Shining Force. I had a blast playing Disgaea II, and Guitar Hero I & II. If I still had my PS2, I'd be playing the shit out of Odin Spere and all the other fun-as-hell Atlus games, Grim Grimoire, and so on.
For the record, I loathe, loathe, loathe and abhor exclusives, be they console, or pc.

I can get a new console for roughly the same amount of money and I don't have to pay a penny extra for roughtly 6~ 7 years. you can't argue with that,
