Buddy getting new comp

My friend is getting a new comp and is in need of some help for what parts and such to buy for the computer. The computer will mostly be for gaming and surfing Internet. 2 gig ram is a must. It can max cost around 800-900 bucks. But if you can put together a way better computer with just slightly more money, add that option too. It's an option to build together a computer all from scratch.

The computers he is looking at right now are: Gamer i10 or Gamer i05. If he buys the i10 he will reduce some stuff.

Any kind of suggestions is welcome. Everything from another computer too changing the parts in the two different options above.
