My predictions are comming true!!!!

I made a post a long time ago stating what would happen to the next gen and current mmorpgs.

way before SOE took over vanguard i said SOE would take over vanguard, have a revamp and a relaunch and they will be semi successful

Well here were the rest of my predictions

1.AoC will be a flop, there will be haters and there will be fanbois for a long time arguing on how much this game sucks and rocks but the haters will outnumber the fanbois greatly. The flop will happens when AoC is succumbed with bugs and most computers will have a hard time running AoC.

2. Pirates of the burning sea will be a very fun games, though at most times it will be tedious though for the most part be a good game, it will recieve fame like LOTRO.

3. Warhammer will be the big one, while not having many subscribers as WoW it will gain extreme popularity and will be very fun though at release the game will be very imbalanced most classes will be absurddly overpowered. Most people will be play Chaos, Darkelves and empire.

4. World of warcraft will come back full force with a awesome expansion adding many new and unique things. It will be much greater then the TBC expansion. WoW will lose more of its fanbase but will still continue being the number one played MMO and this next expansion will help it alot and it will not be northrend.

5. A old school game will create old school servers for people to play on, players will rejoice and play it.

6. The top mmorpgs for a while will be LOTRO, POTBC, WAR and WoW

If by stating the obvious is predicting the future then you are amazing

WoW is about to crash (EQ-style but more accentuated as Blizzard fanbois are going to be less forgiving then even I am toward raiding enforcement), forever.  Not to come back full force.

Raiding is a DOT, it is taking it tool.  There is nothing saving WoW now, it is crashing.

WoW will make a come back, most of the games being released will fail and fail hard. Most wont even see release. Tabula rasa will be another that will hit the dirt hard.

LOL.  I am willing to wage money WoW isn't coming back.

Raiding has it tool, and now it the time to pay for Blizzard.  Peoples who are fed up with raiding won't change their mind.  Peoples who become fed up with raiding will keep leaving.  And peoples who are left alone without their friend will consider quitting it.

Take EQ PoP release and see it % loss...WoW will lose about twice faster then EQ did, for the same %.

Lol what am i talking about WoW still leads MMORPGS it doesnt need to make a comeback.

  • gpettgpett Member Posts: 1,105

Sound like pretty solid predictions to me.

I am of the same mind as the OP other than PotBS.  I am sure PotBS will be a great game.  But it will have its haters that are mmorpg noobs that just cannot grasp the type of game it is trying to be.  PotBS will attract the gamers that have liked or still like games like Eve, Shadowbane, Asherons Call, or DaoC.  Unfortunatly, most of those people will jump ship (sorry for the pun) for WAR when it releases.

They have money, more then they need.

However, the game is crashing, it is dying.  Nothing can reverse that, players who quit are fed up.  Which is something Blizzard has no experience dealing with, players which are fed up with them.  Guess copycat-ing SoE has some side effects after all.

    Proof WoW is dying?

  • OrthosinOrthosin Member Posts: 308

Even if WoW dies blizzard will come with a starcraft or diablo MMO that would be 10x better and destroy the mmo market. Blizzard will own and always own the MMORPG sales.

I don't know anyone around me who still play WoW.

Some stills play EQ and EQ2.

This is not scientific...but when other game designers/heavy gamers don't know anyone who are still playing a game...it means something, doesn't it?

I read more and more peoples who are fed up against WoW on these forums.  Peoples who are obviously bitter and angry.  The peoples who complaining at ghost servers as well.

I don't think WoW will still have 500k subs in NA and Europe by the end of the year, if they are still up to that even.

So really you are a Blizzard fan making baseless predictions to reasure yourself that your company will always be in control of the MMORPG market?

I honestly think if GW2 is a real MMORPG it can be the next big thing.

  • OrthosinOrthosin Member Posts: 308

I dont know of any good MMORPG out besides WOW

if most classes are absurbly overpowered... wouldn't that mean that a few are absurbly underpowered.

I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.

Everybody who played the closed beta of Vanguard knew what was going to happen. You're like those people who keep telling everyone they knew  Auto Assault would be the first MMO to shut down. Thats not so much predicting as it is stating the obvious.

Yes but does this make it right? Only underpowered classes in WoW are shaman and priest and thats 2 out of 9 but still its a bad thing.

It would be true IF they would still benefit from the fanbase they have prior releasing WoW.

But they screw with their fanbase and they make them angry, sour and bitter.

If Blizzard ever sell 1 million copies of any game, I would be surprise...heavily.

As to saying you don't know any good MMO out there...there is a list on the left, and many are quite good.

No sir, a "heavy gamer" doesn't know anyone who is still playing WoW does not mean ANYTHING when dealing with a subscribtion base of 8,5 million subscriber. When Blizzard is starting to shut down a massive amount of servers, then its safe to assume its losing subscribers.

In fact, I'm willing to bet my house, my car and my entire bank account that WoW will have well over 500k subs in NA and Europe by the end of the year.

  • OrthosinOrthosin Member Posts: 308

Gaureenteed if a universe of starcraft came out, there would be more players and subs then WoW ever had.
