5.) All players will be locked into one faction when they roll onto a new server. In other words if your first character on a server is a Chaos character you will only be allowed to create Destruction characters on that server.

Yup, but that wouldn't prevent me from reaching likemind players on the other side.  See, PvE players with a likemind desire will be on both side, trading kills will only be natural.

Again, the HOW is not what matter, it is the fact that these players would feels RIGHT about doing it.  Cause they are playing PvE, thereby they only avoid PvP in order to advance in PvE...and they feels right about it.

Even if Mythic finds a way to counter 1 action, there will be other...if the players feel they cheat and are wrong, this is something...but when the players feel they are right and not cheating, just taking what is rightfully theirs...this is another thing completely.  The point is, the player doing this, doesn't feels like he is cheating or doing something wrong.  As all he wants is to advance PvE-wise, thereby he finds way to avoid the PvP artificial limits imposed on him...

This is the same thing as people farming pvp to level up in WAR, they won't let something like that happen.
But in this example, you only kill each one 1 time...now this post is not about HOW to abuse it, it is about the fact PvE players will feel RIGHT and JUSTIFIED to do it, and fear not, they will find way to farm each other...even if my example is flawed...it is only to get the topic to the point, that for these players, they are not "cheating" or "abusing the game", they are merely PvE-working.

And have no doubts that angering these players will have dire and heavy consquences if you intend to do PvE PUGs, as these players will be running these a LOT and to be "ignore by 1", will lead to be ignore by many of them, which will cut off you MANY PvE groups...

    Lol you are hilarious :p

Look, it happened in DAoC as well that people farmed eachother, you have diminishing returns on that, so it is not really profitable.

Furthermore there will be people like me ( and my guild :p ) to crash the party and kill everyone :p

And if you guys hide well enough and keep on farming eachoter, fine, go ahead, I have no problem with that.

I don't really understand what you are trying to prove here. Warhammer will be about PvP and PvE.

And what is this about, and I quote "have no doubts that angering these players will have dire and heavy consquences if you intend to do PvE PUGs", lol are you nuts, friendships will be made, great alliances will be built, and they will be PRO RvR, just as in DAoC. So I am sorry to dissapoint you, but a few nutcases that dont wanna PvE with me cause I crashed their farming party will have NO impact whatsoever on my gaming experience, as I will be in a large RvR alliance who also does PvE, just like in DAoC.

Well, I dunno why I try to talk sense into you really :p

In case you didn't realize this yet, this is game, and the reason you play a game is to have fun and what fun comes out of farm killing players without them fighting back? Wow, just wow. You are so strange. Stop posting about topics that are completely clueless and non-sensical. Do you have nothing better to do?

Ignorance and denigration.  I am immune to both.

I am TRYING to get the peoples to understand and IMPROVES the game, from a PvE point of view.  See, WAR will attract PvE players; like it or not.  If you trap them in the current setting, you will anger them and make them unhappy...and the point of a game is to have players playing happily.

See, it is not me, but the devs, that decide to put some PvE in the game.  Completion of this PvE is important.  When you start something, you finish it.

The game is pvp, pve is there for pvp'ers to enjoy now and then. Pve players can decide to play or not to play war, that's their choice. It would also be a good idea that if they do decide to play, they understand what the game is like, and you obviously fail at this.

So, you and your pve buddies farm each other, for what? You get exp/gold/rps and even items... so, you farm each other for a year, not having any fun at all. what are you going to do next? farm each other for a few more years?

You see,war isn't wow. So it's not like you have to spend hours on end to get your tier 5 gear from a really_boring_instance_#23 or you could just "farm pvp" It's not like that, there aren't any uber items and the only reason to play a game is for fun, not to collect uber items. So, if you are not having fun (and farming friends in pvp isn't fun) then why are you playing? =p

People with your mindset will ither not play at all, play for a bit then quit, or get into the game and play it like its supposed to be played.

Oh, and pve is complete =p it is completely fun which is the only requirement for pve in war :) No, it doesn't offer equal rewards to pvp (no rps from pve) but that's a design choice, not some horrid mistake the devs made :)

PS: Anofayle, how much would it cost to hire you with the idea of transforming eq2 into an rvr based game where I could sack enemy cities and control zones like in war? Oh, well, if that's not an option then at least I can still get some amusement from reading your posts =p

    1.  You will be locked into one side (order or chaos) per server with no in game communication between the two sides.

    2.  While you can find people with out of game resources that are willing to take "turns" killing each other for items, it is a violation of the EULA.  In fact, people did this at first in DAOC and it resulted in many suspensions and banings.  There were postings about how all a players realm points were removed and the account suspended for a week.  So go ahead and do it.  They closely monitor the gain of items, gold, and realm points.  They have CSR that actually want RvR areas looking for cheating, exploiting, and radar.  So if you want to try and get banned go ahead.

    3.  I do not think you know how RvR works.  Yes, two sides set themselves up and start going at it.  Other people show up.  They will just jump right in.  There is no asking permission or camp stealing issues.  It is a free for all.  You can say whatever you want and it won't stop them.  If you report them to their GM, the GM will laugh in your face.  Hell, if you do anything at all to them in complaint, they can just report you for cheating and have you removed from the game.

So sure go ahead.  Try to farm each other because it won't work.  If you are in a public place, one or both sides of your little group will get rolled.  If you go to a really private place - doubtful you could find - then it makes it much easier for the logs and CSR to catch you cheating.

The best way to end the pain WAR and its DEV's are causing you, is to make an end to it. There's bound to be either a flat or a bridge in your neighborhood.

Odds are you survive and that will only do you good, perhaps you'll actually be able to write a coherent post.

I'll turn this random reply into something more substantial..

The DEV's, that cause you "oh so much agony". explicitly try to prevent people like you to buy their game. They don't want you.

Since many many pvp/pve mmos have existed with this not being a problem why is it going to affect war? People do this in every game and get reported and banned. Its not really war if the enemy stands still and lets you kill them without fighting back.

And whats with the long ass description? Just ask "How will war prevent against kill farming in pvp." I only have to read one sentence and everyone with a little knowledge of mmos understads you.

  • IlliusIllius Member UncommonPosts: 4,142

Obviously you are not immune to ignorance since you keep posting blather like the posts in this thread.

Mythic is not looking to "improve" the game from a pve point of view.  WAR is being billed as a PVE game for a reason!  I have no problem with WAR attracting pve players, and from some beta experience with their pve I think that they will be satisfied.  In the event that they are not, they only need to remember back to when the developers were telling them that it was going to be a PVP focused game and that if they don't like it they can leave.

Trying to circumvent the "lack of pve" by willingly cheating will get you nothing more then a suspension (thus wasting your money) or an outright ban ( again wasting your money).  So you know what, I encourage you to go and cheat, exploit, and farm your "like-minded" people because I know that when the day comes that I pick up WAR as my next mmo of choice I will be out there killing without mercy and with extreme prejudice.  If I see you or the "like-minded" players sitting around your campfire taking turns I will kill you all myself.  For those of my own, you will be rightly reported after I get my rewards for killing your buddies .

DAoC had a similar setup as WAR will have.  And like it has been stated by previous posts people have been banned for what you are proposing.  Thinking about you and the kind of player you will be with the intended mindset, I can see that you and your kind will be few, with an impact on pve so INSIGNIFICANT that I will not have to worry about gettin' into a group because you or your friends might be running it.  Hell, I'll start my own if things don't go right.  There should be plenty of people in the alliance that would be willing to join me, because I'm sure they'll all have at least 1 alt that can use the reward.

No required quests! And if I decide I want to be an assassin-cartographer-dancer-pastry chef who lives only to stalk and kill interior decorators, then that's who I want to be, even if it takes me four years to max all the skills and everyone else thinks I'm freaking nuts. -Madimorga-

Oh I apologize completly I never read the entire title of your post

    "... and why I shouldn't play WAR"

I completly agree, you shouldn't play WAR. The small chance that you might end up on the same server and faction as me is terrifying. Please stick with everquest, or whatever you kids are playing these days.

LoL, damn almost makes me feel like I shouldn't have posted my previous post and just said what you did  ^^^^^^

Hmm yet another PVE thread by .....? this is beginning to seem like ground hog day, round and fucking round we go always arriving at the same freaking place.I know why its happening and its really not our fault that all your precious PVE games are broke or just lifeless world with nothing do.

Its going to get worst  before it gets better lol, can you imagine whats its going to be like once we get closer to release.Let  them come because it  wont  change anything and Mythic wont listen to whining uber loot addicts spouting on about freaking PVE.

You should be grateful that  Mythic though of you PVEs and put in some very good PVE objectives, its just not the main aim of the game.
