I'm resubbing

This is not a thread for haters.  Your opinion has no substance here, on account of the fact that I already enjoy this game, but my previous computer could not handle it.  Now that it can, I'm greatly looking forward to starting over.  Due to population issues, I know there will be server mergers, but where should I start off, and what kind of character would you suggest I start?  I'd like to solo, but I really want to be an important part of a group.  I don't really want to heal.  As for combat, I'm usually a melee guy.  So, any suggestions?

Well... if you really want to go in this game... like for the long run, play a warrior.

No joke. They can take a licki and keep on tickin, pretty much simply walk through the nukers and pound past the healers.  They are indispencable in end-game and for any serious PvP party.

Plus, dual weilding HG Warriors are simply so much fun.  Stack your points in STR and DEX with all thats left in CON and your set. Try to balance your gear between STR and DEX... the decisions wont really be a problem coz you'll probably be taking all that you can get. Dont use a shield unless your doin PvE, and when you have enough moves make sure you look into making some macros.

The ultimate solution to every problem: more space marines.

Well I'll annoy you a bit by saying that upgrading many not yield a MAJOR performance boost you wish. Especially if you opt for a modern system which VG doesnt take advantage of. ( Nvidia 8 series in particular). Performance and systems seems all over the show rather than consistant.

But hey what do I know... I'm a big old smelly hater... ( or I'm being realistic )

Wow so since no opinions will help you out why are you asking what server to start on?? They all have the same population NONE so just pick whatever server you want using the server merge page. i would probably go with a server that the RP server is merging into IMO but eh you feel your going to enjoy this game for longer then two weeks. have fun could of used that 14.99 though on something that would of made you happy though a spicy chicken sandwich from Wendy's mmmmm.

    What the hell man?

Look... the game is still fun. At least for me. I go around beating the shit out of every I can see, and at the end of the day chill with my guild.

It's what I do in every other MMO, VG is simply more PvP oriented (Tharridon) and far less populated :)

I resubbed this week, logged onto my 29 orc DK and noted WOW he looks cool! Lots of new textures and such since i played last in 3/07.  But then I looked at his plethora of skills and logged out and made a new disciple to knock some rust out and relearn the game.  Performance is really good for me on "Highest Quality" settings.. FPS 20-50 with some chugging when it first loads into a town or other busy area.  My dsc is 11 now and I'm having a great time.  Population is pretty low but searching lvls 5-15 I find 30-40 players on Hilsbury.

Luckily I"m in a large and excellent guild so once I get time to group some I don't see it being a huge issue.  The merger will be a BIG help though.  I think this is the best designed game as far as classes and combat goes, just need to work on population, bugs, content and such... in other words get it out of beta!

Well, if you were looking for faction based PVP as is provided for by Varking, then steer clear, as that format is being replaced by FFA PVP only once the server merges happen.

Otherwise, if you are going for the PVE servers, one's probably as good as the next right now.....
