Just today did I really bother looking into the game after reading the review here at mmorpg.com. And I have to say, it doesn't sound half bad. Put that with the fact that I have nothing else to play until my much anticipated release hits the shelves. I think I'll be giving this game a spin. But honestly, why so little hype towards this game? The PvP crowd is raging for something, you'd figure Fury would get a little more praise considering its release is so close.

NDA still active on this title? If not, I'll tell you why.
With so much competition out there, people are asking for the sky in their new games. (and to be honest, most games are still not delivering!)
Here's what I'd want to know about Fury:
- Is there FFA PVP (can ANYONE attack ANYONE? With bounties and reputations that dictate acceptance in towns, etc... or is it just faction vs faction?)
- Is there corpse looting (100%?)
- Are there instances?
- Is there housing?
- Is there boats? (and can we swim?)
- Is there some ability to fly?
- Is there a player-run economy? (Vendors)
- Does PvP involve strategy (ie - controlling high ground or areas of the map or towns?)
- Is it a gear-dependant game?
- Is it solo-friendly?
- Is there a radar/coordinate system for every player, or do you navigate by landmarks?
- Are there levels (not nub friendly... or is it skill-based so anyone can do anything?)
- Are there quests or are we free to do as we please without knowing we're falling behind?
- Are there classes? (do we have to irreversibly decide our character's fate in the first 5 minutes of play?)
- Is it 1st Person or 3rd person?
MMO gamers are getting more complex. Does Fury offer anything innovative? Or is it another carebear cookie-cutter fantasy MMO with all the same rulesets for carebears?
What about Fury should make people look twice at it?
- Phos
AAH! A troll fire! Quick, pour some Kool-Aid on it!!!
The NDA has been lifted a couple of weeks ago. Fury is like Guild Wars just without PvE and more action in the PvP. To your questions
- Is there FFA PVP (can ANYONE attack ANYONE? With bounties and reputations that dictate acceptance in towns, etc... or is it just faction vs faction?) It's instanced and divided into teams it's Server versus Server
- Is there corpse looting (100%?) Players only recieve items at the end of an instanced battle
- Are there instances? The whole game is an instance other than in towns and citys where you can meet people at any time
- Is there housing? It's a PvP game with instancing....
- Is there boats? (and can we swim?) It's a PvP game and has little to no Roleplaying
- Is there some ability to fly? I have not seen anyone fly in my low levels
- Is there a player-run economy? (Vendors) Yes
- Does PvP involve strategy (ie - controlling high ground or areas of the map or towns?) There are various large battlefields inwhich tactic and working together is very improtant
- Is it a gear-dependant game? It's important but it mainly depends on your skills in your bar and your own personal skills
- Is it solo-friendly? It's all about PvP and PvP can only be done against other people
- Is there a radar/coordinate system for every player, or do you navigate by landmarks? There is a "Radar"
- Are there levels (not nub friendly... or is it skill-based so anyone can do anything?) There are levels
- Are there quests or are we free to do as we please without knowing we're falling behind? There are Quests
- Are there classes? (do we have to irreversibly decide our character's fate in the first 5 minutes of play?) There are various classes I chose "Healer" and ended up losing any battle -couldn't heal with long cast time for "small heals" - due to the fact that it is still in Beta and the classes have not been fined out
- Is it 1st Person or 3rd person? It's Third Person
I think its great and don't understand the little hype.
In response to some of the hype comments I have seen:
Yes this is an MMORPG. You have different classes (casters and melee) and it is meant to support a massive online community. Just because it is fast paced and completely instanced doesnt mean its not an mmorpg.
Basically take guild wars, cut out the PVE add unreal tournament and you get Fury. Ive been beta testing games like crazy (2moons, tabula rasa, LOTR) and this is the first one that has held my attention for more than 12 hours.
I do have a feeling that the community is going to be slightly immature and cut throat, but that comes with a pvp only game. Best way to handle this is to join a mature guild so that you limit your interaction with the immature 14 year olds.
Now, the devs have done an excellent job of creating this game and what I would consider (and hope) is the first instance of this game. If they dont find a way to incorporate new content then its not going to hold much retention.
BUT I AM LOVING THIS GAME
Why so little hype?
Because advertising is expensive.
I am actually good friends with the guys over at sandbox(they handle PR for Fury) as my video game interview was hanging out at their studio in NYC. I should point him at this thread and have him hype up his game for you guys.
