An intresting joke on the MMO community

I think NC Soft is making fun of us. Think about it, they have taken some of the most common aspects of MMOs and boiled them down into a game. I understand that they will be adding new content like PVP but really how can you take this serious? The devs are probably sitting back having a good laugh every time some one logs in. Don't get me wrong, if this is your cup of tea then god bless you, but there has to be something deeper on NC Softs part other wise why release a game that will be little more than a foot note in MMO history?

    1)  They're testing a new revenue model

    2) It's a niche game (3D Diabloesque Hack-n-slash in a MMO-lite environment - very friendly to the casual player)

    3)  I personally believe DR will be one of the first NCSoft MMOs ported to the PS3 under their new deal with Sony.

My biggest and only issue with this game is a lack of a 1st person view. I like to run around in 1st person so I can inspect all the faces of other characters to see if I picked the one I like most. Well I lied I have 2 issues. My second is having to install net frame or whatever its called. Im not sure what it does but I dont understand how ive played MMOs for almost 8 years now and have never had to install it before.

meh, DR is fun in short doses, i got tired of it and im waiting for something more interesting or involved.  but it passes the time.  besides how can people who play video games all the time take themselves very seriously.  i like it when devs make inside jokes.  it reminds me when i get all bent out of shape when im playing that... this is a game, it should be fun and entertaining.

    1)  It's MMO, not FPS.  Given the style of game play, you'd never survive in first-person mode.

    2) .NET Framework is a development environment and is used for many games, including LotR.  You're going to start seeing more of this...  Chances are you already had it on your computer in one version and didn't know it...

i have never played the game and probably wont but i think porting to ps3 would be a great thing.  Its showing signs that online download MMO's are getting into mainstream like maplestory showing up at target ( maplestory cash cards)
