Two questions

First off, I would like to say I am not comparing WoW to WAR in saying its a WoW clone, so please if you are going to say "this is not WoW fanboy, this is WAR get off our forums!" please don't reply. I have looked on there website, and elsewhere...I haven't found an answer..

I am all about customization , in Wow for instance, they had your talent tree..this really helped play to what you liked to do, for instance if your a warlock and you want to cast DoT's and drain an enemy, youd go affliction, for huge nuke's and crits, destruction, and if you where into surviving/sicking your pet on someone, youd go demonology ... what is WAR going to offer as far as not having an army of army witch hunters, all genericly the same , with a different hair style and a different hat?

My second question, I have played WoW for..about two years, I got 60 about a month or two before BC, so i didnt get to raid..when i got 70 i did some raiding, definately not my cup of tea, therefore all I did in my bit as 70, was PvP, it seems to be universally accepted that WoW pvp is lame, unskilled, and junk. Now I am a MMO noob, i've pretty much played nothing but WoW, so im pretty much a blind sheep as far as this "fun pvp" everyone here speaks of...I thought WoW pvp was decent ( i couldnt say it was innovative, because ive never played anything else) but I had about 9-10k honorable kills, and about 3k on a twink character...am i going to burst into tears when i get my first kill in warhammer, out of sheer joy of the combat system...or is this just pre-release hype?

Though we have heard of stupid haste in war, cleverness has never been seen associated with long delays.

WAR is on the cutting edge of MMORPGs and even though I have no factual data for you I would bet all my money on a detailed "customization tree" for all characters.  They know we like customization because they know we liked it in DAoC.  It will probably be even better than in DAoC which had tons of different "toys" and skills you could train your toon in.

PvP will be awesome in WAR so long as you liked PvP in DAoC.  I have heard them say several times that they are taking the sweet stuff about DAoC and making it better.  Sorry, no factual data here either but I think most read-up people on WAR would agree with this as well.

    Have fun!
was just about to find that link, but yeah WoW has actually pretty bad character customization.  Look at eq/eq2/vanguard which has much better customization.

Fun pvp? Wow had a fun pvp at one point. There are now though, numerous problems with pvp in wow. First it's meaningless to anyone except you. And to you it's just a way to grind for gear, not exactly the best reward but blah. Main problem with wow is items, they have no limit, there is no way to know how much damage a given character can do. As a lock, you could go all out +damage and have your dots do 2x+ of their delve, or you can go all out hp and have 15k hp+. How can the devs possibly balance pvp when they can't even guess what amount of damage is possible in 5 seconds period (for example) and what amount of hp targets will have?

They can't, add to that some bad dsign choices (a rogue shouldn't be able to have you cc'ed untill dead, and no, I don't care if he had to burn all of his cooldowns to do it) and you end up with a game where pvp is pretty bad. From monkeys playings mages taping 3 buttons (pom+pyro, fireblast, blasweave) to kill anyone once every 3 min (worked at 60, not as good at 70) to rogues with their stun lock.. go figure, mythic managed their cc problems in daoc years before wow but wow still can't manage theirs. To warriors doing up to 6k+ damage in 2 seconds. To shamans with potential to do just as much. To hunters who auto shoot people for 1.5k+ with crits. To warlocks who just dot for insane damage and then fear. To priests who are almost as bad.

Wow is not a good example of pvp :) Just think about annoying moments you had while pvp'ing in wow, like being chain feared or stuned till death etc, a good pvp game doesn't have that, or at least not as much.
