Fanboi - Just what what does it mean to you?

I used to think that a Fanboi was used to describe a group of or single individual that set up a web site - almost a "fan" club (most being male so you get) fan boy for a particular game - one they followed religiously and met and talked about it - almost playing it strategically before it was even released.
Now it seems to be a watered down slur used to berate anyone that likes a game that you do not.
So..what IS a fanboi to you?

To me a fanboi is someone who religiously follows whatever there following and protects it from any verbal assault.

Someone with a "My game is best/better than yours" mentality. They will defend even it's weak points as "actually" being strong points, and flat out deny that it has any flaws whatsoever. If you do not like their game, you are wrong or have bad taste.
Not to be confused by Mr. "My game is the next big thing". The people who will make threads promoting their game in other, unrelated games' forums.
A fanboi is a NGE'er

Being a fan of a game is not derogatory.
Being a fanboi is derogotory because that person so blindly supports something they ignore logic, fact, and well thought out arguments.
For me Fanboi is someone who deliberately spreads lies hiding all games shortcommings and inventing false qualities - all in order to get as much people hooked to the game he plays/likes
Funboi is like mega passionate PR person that does it for free

Fanboi is a term used as an ad hominem variant. More specifically, a cheap shot tactic and irritant.
i.e. Simple name calling.
Fanboi = Jackass
Someone with tunnel vision, that is blind or oblivious or refuses to see the entire or big picture. And some of the stuff the above posters posted as well.
No required quests! And if I decide I want to be an assassin-cartographer-dancer-pastry chef who lives only to stalk and kill interior decorators, then that's who I want to be, even if it takes me four years to max all the skills and everyone else thinks I'm freaking nuts. -Madimorga-
Fanboi = someone that dont really know to much about the subject.
Sometimes its alittle amusing.
Example: A person that only have played WoW hears about a skill based MMO......you know the rest. A typical fanboi.
Having been reading these forums for some time I have come to realize that 90 percent of the posters in this site have a defenition of fanboi that is as follows : Liking something. Thats it. If you like something you are a fanboi.

Random MMORRP.com poster - OMFG noobsauce, ur such a tuna salad samich fanBoi. WTF dude, tuna salad isn't hardcore permadeath FFA pVp. Tuna salad isn't sandbox. OMFG tuna salad was so much better before teh NGE. So on and so on and so on.

What it means to me? It's just a petty insult word people with no other argument use to try to drag someone down. That's what it means to me. Of course most people don't give a crap what some random person on forums calls them heh.
To me its a term used to summarize a player who will not constructively debate their favorite game's weak points and chose to declare that if you don't like the game, you must be deficient in your playing skills, work ethic, moral character or ..... are a 'CareBear'

Oh yes... My friend who can't see that the controller is really pointless until they put out a game that actually copies what they are actually doing. What do I mean?
Zelda. Would have been an amazing game with that controller. But what did they do? Three preset moves. It doesn't matter what crazy stuff you did it would just do those three preset moves. What do I want? A game that copies your moves exactly. If I jab the contoller three times in front by damn it I want the game to do the same thing.
Until the Wii (The name is also a weak pot in my opinion) makes it until it does that I will say the controller is pointless. Another thing is that they don't make it so you can use the normal controller on the games. If you want to be using a normal controller for the games you have to be using a Gamecube game. Apparently they are changing this for the new Supersmash Bros game. I'm looking forward to that game.

The word fanboi is used whenever someone is out of real arguments. Come on, it's entertainment we're discussing on this forum, and therefore EVERY POST is subjective.

I would reserver the term fanboy to describe the blindly fanatic, those that like something so much that they couldn't stand to hear a criticism or a desenting view about it without getting angry and defensive.

It means Ragnarok Online 2 is gonna kick ass.
Someone that defends a product with extreme emotionalism that does not allow any arguments to the contrary even if those arguments are both logical and factual.
This also applies to people not willing to move on with life. Defeners of SWGs hair styling, factory working, Pre-CU game are good examples. All of SWG stunk. old, new, whatever. To defend any of it is like wallowing in crap and screaming at people how it's your crap and they can't have it and shouldn't take it away from you.
These fanbois remind me of the smallest of infants. They way a baby can cry so hard that it stops making noise and just turns bright red and shakes violently with it's mouth agape. This should be the picture in Wikipedia for the 'Fanboi' entry.
'Sandbox MMO' is a PTSD trigger word for anyone who has the experience to know that anonymous players invariably use a 'sandbox' in the same manner a housecat does.
When your head is stuck in the sand, your ass becomes the only recognizable part of you.
No game is more fun than the one you can't play, and no game is more boring than one which you've become familiar.

Fanboys are those guys that protect their game/whatever above everything.....like....my "something" is the best and all the rest sucks even if his game/whatever is the worst game in the world....
