Looking for game for myself and 2 newbies (partner and sister)

Hi, im very sorry if something like this has been posted. I tried to find a post like this and couldn't.

My older sister and I live in different states, Im pacific and she is central. She just came to visit me and said that she wanted to get into playing an MMORPG with me. As soon as she says this my partner says she wouldn't mind playing one too. The problem is that both of them are very new to computer gaming. They want something simple.

I had my heart set on Age of Conan or Fallen Earth before they laid this news on me, I like the challenging PvP type atmosphere. I do not think they would like either due to thier complexity. They said they dont want to push THAT many buttons all the time. I thought of good ol Anarchy Online, its combat is very easy for anyone, but Im sick to death of AO after playing it so many years, DAoC too for that matter.

Is there such a game out there? Will AoC and Fallen Earth be newbie friendly? We toss the word newb around alot but these two women are really newbies. I really dont want to play some isometric view type game, it has to be something with graphics at least as good as Anarchy Online or DAoC. EVE comes to mind, but that game confuses me, so I dont think it would work so well for them either. I already looked at Gods and Heroes too, the NPC squad style of it would just confuse them too, also it does not look like there is much if any PvP.

I really want something fun for me, an experienced gamer, yet something easy enough for them to learn and play too. I have alot of time before my new gaming computer is built to think about this, just looking ahead of time. Thank you.

The only two games i can think off the top of my head those two could pick up easy are WOW or Guild Wars

Agreed WoW or GW.  You can also try Phantasy Star Universe.  It's much easier to get into for a console gamer since it uses controllers (originally built for ps2).  It's very simple and easy to get into, but doesnt have the same amount of content and options as most MMOs.  It's not exactly a MMO either... it's similar to GW with the lobbies and instanced adventure areas.  More of a hack and slash... should be easy enough for 2 nubs to get into.  I mention this game because it's the only one we could get my friends GF to play with us (and she enjoyed it... we ended up going back to WoW).

since AoC and Fallen Earth are still quite a bit away, there's no need to worry about that now.

have you thought about maybe playing swg with them, there's great character customization, and an opportunity to do a lot of other things besides kill-loot-and repeat. entertainer, crafter, player housing, collecting, there's still some great social aspects left to this game.

i think guild wars is a poor choice. the game is pretty much geared around pvp end game content and for a new mmo player that can be a little bit much.

TRy out WOw, its your best bet.

Also pirates of the burning sea (not released yet but due out soon) , and WAr are other good options.

The girls must have game with beautiful graphics and nice comunity. Last Chaos has both. People there are most friendly i ever met. In addition, LC is freetoplay.

I guess Lineage2 also has nice graph and community and moreover, huge world to venture. I would recomend L2 in first place, if you are ready to pay to play.

As Guildwars fan i must admit this game is not for girls who enjoy more carebear games. GW is too much hardcore for total newb. Its e-sport and females do not like competition and rivalry.

I recomend WoW even less. Never played it personally but all my friends do or did. From what i observed, i must say the community is horrible there.

    Playing: Rohan
Played (from best to worst): Shadowbane, Guild Wars, Shayia, Age of Conan, Warhammer, Runes of Magic, Rappelz, Archlord, Knight online, King of Kings, Kal online, Last chaos

GW is that hardcore until you get into endgame, But if you get all 3 GW games that are out right now I think it would take them a month or two to get threw all the quest depening on how fast they do them. I've seen people go threw all 3 games in 3days just so they could get to the pvp. But if they plan on only playing 1-2 hours a day only 3-5 days a week they should have alot of stuff to do.

now with WoW and everyone saying they have a horrible community. I don't know what they are talking about everyone i've talked to seemed friendly on the 2 servers i played on. but then again i rarely used the local channels. Just made new chat window just for guild party and wishper chat. Plus i near really did the end game Raids but only a few times as the drop rates are way to low plus i never liked being in groups bigger than 10 anyway.

I would recommend COH for two reasons.

First, it's very easy to get into, and it's not a complex game.

Second, the character creation system seems to be a favorite among my female gamer friends, who even more than the males, like to get in there and design cool costumes and looks. They get to play "dress up Barbie" with it a bit, and they seem to like that.
