8500GT with 512MB?  I've not seen one of those.

Your PC should run it smoothly, with medium settings based on what  I've seen out of Oblivion.  I wouldn't say High Settings, even tho I'm sure your PC would take on Oblvion at High, I think AoC will be a little more resource hungry then Funcom is letting on.

Any DX10 card under a 8800 or 2900xt is not going to do this game justice at all.

I doubt I'll be playing in DX10 for a while.  Just don't have the money for the Cards I want.

Before I cry BS on your statement, are you talking about doing the game justice on DX10, or overall?

I think he's talking about the cards won't be powerful enough to do the game justice. TBH even with SLI the performance on DX10 games is lackluster at best. I forgot which site it was that did a real world test with Lost Planet but the average FPS were coming out at 30 with a £2500 system. :(

I just finished Lost Planet yesterday and I think it's badly coded but probably gives a good idea if your computer can handle AoC DX10.

I played with quite high settings and fps was "quite" ok with high settings except in HDR I had to put medium and shadows aswell, played in 1680x1050 resolution. Can't OC that well in my current computer case, getting new soon... :)

I totally agree... I suspect AOC isn't going to run very well on older boxes.... which will be true of most games going forward .....
