A game with pretty hard rules or with no rules. For example when you die your corpse stays lootable or something similar. No carebear crap.
I am afraid there is not a single one anymore, is there?
Most mmorpgs seems to be infested with whiny kids and pink color...*shivers*

Define hardcore. By hardcore do you mean full corpse looting, severe death penalties?

Or do you mean required 500 man raids that last for 20 hours?

Or do you mean games where no soloing is possible? or that you have to log on for 12 hours a day?

There's a lot of variations of "hardcore", depending on whether you are talking pve or pvp, or a combination of the two.

LoL first you cll EvE hardcore then you say its a Verey Very boring game. Then you vote for a vapourware game thats never comming out.

If you define hardcore as pvp corpse camping and fun stuff like that, go find a UO server that's pre-trammel.

If you want to find the game that's going to take you longest to get to max level, go play Final Fantasy 11.

I think the first Everquest is by far still the most hardcore of them all!

I am so good, I backstabbed your face!

Thanks for the replies, yep I should have defined the "hardcore" part a bit more clearly.

I am after the game that will scare away all the carebears ;).. I mean hardcore world, brutal and agressive but still fun and great game. I don't mean hardcore grinding/raiding for items or so.

I played UO before trammel or actually started it just before they implemented trammel. Later I stayed in Siege which has much more harder rule set compared to normal shards. I still have 2 active UO accounts but I was wondering if there is any other newer games that will offer the similar "harder" way of living.

WoW is pure carebear game, it is great game, don't get me wrong, but not my cup of tea really. Gotta agree with Barrens chat though, now that is some hardcore right there ;)

I also played EVE test period and have to admit I liked it, but not enough to actually pay for it, but I have to say it has one of the best moods the current mmorpgs (that I've tested) offer.

Most of the games I've played (mmorpg) are missing the element of risk. UO still has it though (Siege), but it's getting old.

    When did you try EVE?

A lot of things a have changed in recent times, so if you tried it a long time ago I would say that you should try it again.

Tales of PIrates is pretty hard core, so is FLYFF. If you want to go all out hardcore, non stop brutallity then go for Maple Story! It scares me it is so brutal.

    Real Life

You should try it... GFRAPHICX is WTFPWNAGE, and you get like this _THING_ that you can make people(Mostly the class called Woman, sort of the same as the Male class)pregnant with it... But you can also go over to the darkside and make people sick with it.

Or you could go and specialize in some art or craft(rly boring lolz).

The best thing is to sit in front of this computer and write stupid post to people in a thing called forum... Then you get ranted alot, and you can rant back, and earn grief points... These grief points can be turned in for great enjoyment... and even something called laughter, but becareful... You need high stamina if you are gonna laugh alot, so start by making small replies and post, so you can get a good laugh and build up your stamina.

The story in Real Life is great, and well written... You can go to something called a libwary, and they...

Disclaimer: PvP in Real Life is only for the most experienced, and would require survere training. So don't head straight for it.

    Okay, i wanna play BFHO.

I see no mention of the upcoming 2 moons which I believe is now or about to be in Open Beta. It is supposed to be a gory hack and slasher!.

Maple Story is pretty scary, especially when you consider that the majority crowd is rather YOUNG. 0.o' It's really awkward when you realize that you're argueing with a bunch of kids in the game.

I did try Tales of Pirates, but I hate games where you have to use the mouse to move around your character. As for FFXI, I find it rather slow - combat-wise. I saw videos of FFXI's PvP and then went back to look at some Warcrack PvP vids...oh yah...I can't even explain how slow FFXI's combat is especially when you have to stay in one place to attack - even at the high levels. Although FFXI does have a bunch of flashier moves.

Warcrack is always hardcore. Although I do agree with UO being really hardcore too.

I have found out Rappelz is hardcore enough and f2p - item mall system  -. Severe death penalty, PK's out there and you have to keep an eye on your back. It's very hardcore, though it doesnt seem to be at the first levels, after that you realize that Rappelz is brutal.

It is a question of fangs.
