Rebinding the controls?

Apologies if this has been asked before but I could not find a post for it in this forum. I was wondering if anybody knows of a way to rebind the controls? For some reason when I bind keys to my Razer Deathadder buttons they are not detected properly in game. The only ones I know that work are the cursor keys, so usually I bind cursor keys to my mouse buttons when I am playing a game that does not support multiple mouse buttons. So if anyone has any idea how I can change the hotbutton keys I would greatly appreciate it.
