what do you know they are actually puttin in voicechat in the game. no more usin vent or teamspeak. its about time you think they would of figured this out before.

But do you really want to hear the voice of a whiney teenager in your Deadmines group?
---
its an added feature that allows people, groups, guilds, or raids to use voicechat instead of having to run a separate program in the background(vent/teamspeak) and for those who don't use vent/teamspeak and have no desire for voicechat all they have to do is just not click the enable tab.... simple as that.
If half your group are communicating in voice chat, you have to listen to it so you know whats going on. Turn it off? You dont know whats happening. This was what happened in DDO.

You do not have to listen to anyone when you do group quests or 5 man instance. Their stradegy isnt complicated and I dont see why it would be a must to use in a group or why a group would require you to have it enabled. If you are doing a 5 man instance and have voice enabled all you will talk about is random crap or what you did the night before. The 5 man content isnt that complicated to require voice communication. Now as far as raids I have never been to one without TS or Vent in the background, this is also a good feature in pvp however i dont want to hear angry people who pvp and talk retarded stuff like they lost a 200 dollar bet on a football game. I for one am not a fan of voice communication, I think it takes some of the fun away, I dont want to know who x toon is irl, I dont wanna know his name, what he/she sounds like, or what they did all day.
A man dies daily, only to be reborn in the morning, bigger, better and wiser.

How is Blizzard going to monitor swearing and cuss words in voicechat? What happens if someone reports someone else for swearing? I very much doubt Blizzard is going to record every word over voice chat. Unless they have several supercomputer hard-drives that measure in the millions of terrabytes at their disposal.
I am glad to see WoW finally copying Turbine. I think that in game voice chat the best feature of DDO. I still used vent when I played LOTRO, except when I was in a PUG. I am sure that this will help out the horrible PUGs in Wow.
where are you getting this information, ive read thru the 2.2 patchnotes and didnt see anything regarding this... please post link to official word on this...

Blizzard was there at E3 not only to talk about all things StarCraft-ian, but also to update folks on the next set of planned updates for their hugely popular MMO, World of Warcraft. In this case, the big news is the introduction of Zul'Aman to the World of Warcraft, as well as some minor updates about the future of voice chat and guild banks in the game.
First off is Zul'Aman. Zul'Aman looks to be a ten-man raid instance that functions somewhat like Zul'Gurub, which means an open area without any attunements needed to enter. According to the preview shown in E3, there'll be a minimum of six bosses, which includes four new animal god bosses - a dragonhawk god, bear god, lynx god, and god of evil - as well as a witch doctor boss and Warcraft II's Zul'Jin, the final boss of the instance.
Additional information for the instance includes enemies that can summon reinforcements by beating on war drums, as well as new quest lines that include hunting for treasure and a timed set of rescue missions that will offer better rewards the sooner the missions are completed.
Blizzard also notes that voice chat will be added to the game at no cost to players. This integrated voice chat system will mute the game slightly whenever a player talks and will use on-screen icons to indicate who the speaker is.
Guild banks, on the other hand, will add additional functionality for guilds who need a good place to stash their loot. The guild bank system will allow officers to set up vaults for storing guild possessions. Permission to access the guild bank's stores will be dependent on the permissions allowed by officers, as well as the rank of the player in his guild.

So basically they are taking the voice chat of DDO and the Guild banking system of EVE. Every game clones each other eventually so we might as well just look for graphics and reason behind quests when choosing a game. It's just about the only thing that changes from one ot the next. Oh and the abilities of the classes (although the only change to the classes is generally the name).
Hmmm I've played WoW for more than 2 years. I have quit WoW for about a few months now and will get back to it, but how would the in-game voice chat work? Would you still need a mic or no?

Well, if you think about it... How would you transmit your voice through the computer without a mic? Did Blizz install some "magic" into their game that can pick up your voice without the use of a microphone?
The answer is yes, you will still need a mic.

Theoretically, you could set the default recording device as "what you hear" and use microsft sam...

He might've have meant do you need a microphone for listening to others, which the answer is no. If otherwise, then no, Blizz won't come to your house and install a mic in your computer. Anyways I don't see too many guilds ditching their vent/TS servers for this. Most big/raiding guilds will still keep their servers so people can just hang out and talk without having to be in a group. On the other hand, I'd really rather not listen to the 12 year old who thinks he owns the game. Of course voice chat can be very advantageous during boss fights with PUGs.
In the end, logic and reason always beat out fanboys.
