It's free to play now? I'd guess Ryzom Ring costs extra? I'm concenred about playing Ryzom since it was bought by another company correct? Look how Horizon's turned out when another company took over. They don't care abou tthe game and are just milking the players.

It's been free for a while if I'm correct. I do know that the expansion did cost though. I remember being in beta for it. So many problems and confusion at the start of playing it I didn't give it the time to play it at all. Seeing as how I see screens of guns n stuff I start out with a stick.

The trial island is free, you have to subscribe to go to the actual game (mainland).

Therefore, Ryzom is not free, it only has a free trial.

I liked Ryzom alot, wish I could still play it without feeling kinda sad.

The only thing I remember was thinking "Holy crap I'm copying these guy's innovative spirit" of course that was release, after they sold six copies and had 5 subscribers I thought "Holy crap I'm never copying these guy's innovative spirit".

I love stanza building, WEEE hours of fun.

Isn't the free trial only like a week long? I played it a year or two ago. I couldn't figure it out and I couldn't get off the island. However, the graphics were nice and the engine was smooth.

The trial (starter land) has undetgone a major overhaul, and would be worth checking out if you've not tried it in over a year.

The trial is limited by skill level, not time. I think it's up to level 21 in each of the four main skills. Monthly payment is required, to go to the mainland.

Gameforge bought Nevrax, not just the game, so the core of the development team hasn't changed. It's not doing a "Horizons". Progress is still slow from what I hear, though, which is a shame because it has the potential to be the best mmorpg out there. As it stands, it's still a very playable game, and has many features which make it stand out, but I can't help feeling a little sad at what could have been if they hadn't had money problems.

Egg thats why I get sad when I think of the game, so many nice concepts, so much potentiel. All pretty much wasted because lets face it. Ryzom is one weird ass place. I liked it alot, unfortunately subscriptions say I'm unique.
