Holy Long Download Batman!

in Star Wars Galaxies

Well, this game looks really cool (ish) and I want to try it, but the download... It's gonna take like 2 weeks to download this thing! I've had this running for 2 days straight  and it still has 9 hours left (and rising) how am I suppose to try it if they have such a dam long download?

    Seems to be taking a very long time for me aswell.  I left it on all day while I was at work and when I got home it had stalled.  Now showing 26 hours remaining....

    This is really pissing me off now.  I re-installed XP but, not wanting to have to re-download the whole thing again, made sure I kept all the .tre and patch files.  So i load everything into the SWG deirectory, start launchpad and it decides it needs to download some files (that are already there) and will take 22 hours.

     

    I'm tempted just to say f**k it and find something else to play.  Anyone know of a way to speed this up?

    If it seems to have stalled, it may indeed have stalled, and the best bet is to shut down the launchpad and restart.

    There was a strange bug somewhere during the CU period on one of the publishes where the only way to get around it was to close the launchpad and restart it.

    CH, Jedi, Commando, Smuggler, BH, Scout, Doctor, Chef, BE...yeah, lots of SWG time invested.

    I've shut down and restarted the launchpad a few times already this evening and it hasn't helped much.  It's now sat at 12 hrs 24 mins left after restarting and I don't doubt it'll take that long as it took nearly two days to download it all last time (including stalls).

    Well, good luck then.  The irony is that much of the code you have to download probably will never be used in the game.

    The download time for this is very ridiculous! I downloaded the game about a month ago to take advantage of the 2 week free trial and it took a little more than 3days to download!!! The download time was longer than the actual time I played the game.
