Server wipe on 7-24?

I don't know if it's just me (as I just installed the game and played for maybe only 2 hrs) but I got disconnected from the servers...they were down maybe an hour at most...and then when I logged back in my character was gone.  Did they perhaps do a server wipe? (I realize this is a beta) Just curious if this happened to others...

EDIT Forget what I said...my character has returned...sorry for the alarmism :)
