The Movement

All of these threads are about maturity and graphics,I don't care about either, kids are gonna get in one way or the other and the graphics are pretty cool, but what about the character movement when they are running and all that, they seem unrealistic and kinda slow.I am watching the video of when all those guys run at each other,it seemed like they were wodilin towards each other,I think AoC will be great, but if they are going for the realistic look, then it should move realistically.Basically, when they are doing the combat moves, make it faster and more intense, and make the running alot better.

Already stated by funcom that they are fixing the running animations. Sorry no link.

Hey no problem the games only 90 days from going live with only a technical beta  and internal testing.Oh and they still haven't finished the female avitars either.

    Whats wrong with the movement?

It should be alittle dynamic. Try to run with a armour, in learther boots on a bumpy  road......you wont be a olympic gold runner yourself.

I remember watching a vid of a player in the beginning zone with pretty much just his loincloth on, The running looked pretty fine, but when he got closer to the mob he started to walk like he had a stick shoved up his ass, I kinda find that hard to take serious if I saw a guy like that in real life. I hope they fix that soon.

This could very well be a hurdle that animation technology in games just hasn't caught up to yet. I'm not sure if Funcom is to blame. Look at any game with "realistic" character models, from EQ2 to V:SoH. All the avatars walk like they just got fist f#cked by an ogre. For all the complaints people have about more stylized, cartoony character models, I prefer that over my toon running around like Jonathan Frakes from ST:TNG.
