The Ideal MMORPG mmm hard to answer. For me the ideal MMORPG has to be a "Sandbox Game" in the the core. Simply because only a sandbox game is able to be content in the system itself and because of that is the only game type that will never run out of content. Also my ideal MMORPG should be without levels, but should consist of skilltrees. Within the skilltrees you should be able to focus on a branch or a skill and invest more points. This would lead to huge amout of possible combinations. Levels are not needed and not wanted in such a system. The Ideal MMORPG integrates players. A few ideas that go into the right direction are, player cities, player driven economy ( player only), player controlled factions, rentable NPC structures in big cities, player can generate quests+event and finally another option are game events where the outcome will change the face of game world ( city gets detroyed or ruler changes or earthquake sunk/rised land etc). ofc a detailed answer qould fill a small book but that would be pretty much the core of my book :P
My dream MMO would be a mix between EVE and Infinity. A 3D WASD control system for your ship and the ability to have a full character that can walk around planets and go into shops on those planets.
