Damm YOU EA!!

Video games are essentially a zero sum game. Which is to say, the money that is generated by one generation is reinvested to keep the series going on the coming generations.

UO could have been even bigger than WOW is today, if EA had not decided to milk the game for what is worth.

Instead of improving the concept they decided make minimum investments and just reap profits.

After 10 years of advancement they still refuse to invest serious money and come up with meaningless expansions (Ninjas?? WTF??)

Kingdom Reborn is at least 5 years behind and they are claiming it’s the next best thing. C’mon, Do you really think we are THAT STUPID???

I rant because I feel that EA has essentially desecrated a Masterpiece, with their quest for maximizing profits.

And ironically, their shortsightedness and stupidy has truly come to haunt them with the success of WOW.

Nothing is lost if you play with people who ignore the new things and continue to play the old way.

lol say that to the SWG vets.  its like trying to ignore the fact that a giant chicken is right infront of ur face blocking ur view its not gonna happen.

    MMO wish list:

    -Changeable worlds
    -Solid non level based game
-Sharks with lasers attached to their heads

This is very true.  Perhaps the problem was the fact that at one point some concentration went to the development of UO2 which was ditched fairly quickly in development.  However, they were not planning for longevity because they were planning on having something new.  Well needless to say the game is still producing all these years after it's release and I'm sure they are happy with the results.  I agree it could of put WoW to shame with more investment, but that is a pretty big investment for an MMO that was the first great MMO.

UO2 was planned and canceled three seperate times by EA.

EA really has no clue about MMOGs.  EA is all about crappy franchise games sold in stores.  Once you buy them, you are on your own.

UO has suffered under their control.
