We don't care about sales, and neither should you. Why would that effect you if the company is making money or not? they dont share the money with you.

Well, the company making money DOES affect us, just not directly. More money typically means better funding for projects and what not, but I dont think we need to get that into detail, and I certainly dont want to feel the need to read paragraphs upon paragraphs of copy and pasted corporate reports somebody found on Gamasutra or some shit.

Yea the wii while not up there graphically like the others does at least put more effort into gameplay when the new mario game comes out i feel it will demonstrate this very well.

Hopefully Wii's lack of hardware power will make it run out of gass eventually as the ps3 and xbox 360 get games like Resident Evil 5 and it becomes more and more apparent the Wii cant hang out at the big boys table.  I think games like Resident Evil 4 really made people look up and take Nintendo seriously for a second there, that momentum is gone however.

I am kind of torn on the subject.  I really dislike the half assed approach nintendo went with on their 2.5 generation console. However I am a huge proponent of accesibility. Wii is very affordable hence makes it alot more accesible than its competitors.

I believe the Wii is a clear indication that Nintendo execs feel they cannot compete on the next gen arena with the others, so they are going in a totally different direction.  Their fumbles with the N64 really hurt their ego.  Gamecube showed them how much of a market there is in simple party games .  Hence here we are, watching as the Wii  outsells everything, except for the Ps2 maybe I havent seen the numbers on those.

Wiis sucess could also be an indication that the world is not ready for high priced next gen consoles.  Certainly not ones that cost 400 -500 bucks.  Then you have the expensive games.  With the rise of WoW and popularity of PC mmos rising high priced consoles are seeing the writing on the wall.  As the prices of PCs fall and consoles rise , along with mmo addiction, people will realise they might not need the high priced consoles anymore.  Instead they might spend a 1000 bucks and be able to afford a Wii and a decent PC.  Choice becomes simple.

Perhaps... perhaps not. I'm learning towards not as long as the graphics will be adequate and the gameplay innovative. Mind you, that while graphics have a big part in attracting people, intriguing gameplay can do just the same. Besides as it is right now, Wii is winning.

I don't know... is evolving in another direction half assed? While they didn't do much about the graphics, they invented new ways to plays. Let's just face it, there hasn't been a fresh innovative game in years. Only "rehashes" and "upgrades" of older game designs. While that is fine, we do need someone other that just higher polygon amount and sharper textures.

I think that they could easily create a powerhouse like PS3 if they wanted. But that wouldn't be a prudent choice, as their community already has one thing in mind: Just plain funny games, as opposed to the PS community that demand excellent graphics. Now, I'm not saying a game can rely on graphics alone, but PS/Xbox tend to that more. By having just sufficient hardware, Nintendo actually forces developers to be innovative.

I totally agree.
 
Also, if my opinion seems to be that PS3/Xbox360 is only for graphics kids and so on, it's not. I actually think this is one of the best "generations" of consoles ever, in term of pure quality of the consoles.
Also, there is of course also innovative and refreshing games on the xbox 360 and ps3. It's just not generic shooters as my statements might have indicated.

well, apparently it was "baiting others to respond in a negative manner". So you're free to talk in a negative manner about politics, the war on terror, religion, but for the love of god, don't post videos of a video game trailer that has been re-done with an old engine.

I would guess that it was due to the manner that it was presented.  If the title and text had been "cool video" or even "video making fun of the wii"  But instead you presented it in a manner that is flame baiting.  Titling your post as the best graphics on the Wii and then keeping the tone of your first post serious really leads one to believe that you were trolling.  A little smiley face such as  or a notation in your post to convey humour would of probably prevented a warning from taking place.

Well if you consider the way you did your post it would seem like you were baiting even if you were not. I did like the movie tho. However as i thought you were basically taking the pee out of the Wii [ pun intendid] i responded apropiatly.
