zack702zack702 Member Posts: 56

You can get a pretty good ammount of Netherweave Cloth from the ogres in Nagrand. As far as the low level stuff goes I dont really remember, its been a long time.

Gomerangan and Scarlet Monastery are excellent spots for silk, if you are in instance farming that is.

What level / class / faction do you play?

  • AntipathyAntipathy Member UncommonPosts: 1,362

Do the centaur grinding quests in Desolace. They normally give a fair amount of silk.

I've done a lot of research on this since one of my alts is a tailor. it really depends what cloth you need and what kind of character you are using to farm it.

but assuming you have a higher level character, rfc is good for linen, the pigs in the barrens or sfk is good for wool. SM or RFD is good for silk, the harpies in feralas or ST is good for mageweave.

a lot of good places for runecloth, tyr's hand, sithius(sp?), the ogres outside DM re ll good places IMO. farming scryer or aldor rep mobs in shadowmoon valley and netherstorm are good for netherweave, that's where i farmed like 1700 pieces for my alt but there might be better drop rates, not positive on that.

Ill try to check some of these places out probably will be needing mageweave soon.

I just started up some new blood elf characters on a new server ones a mage tailor and ones a hunter alchemist only lvl 27 so far. I found a few spots where creatures will allways spawn around a certain area but only for wool and linen. I'm trying to find a place like that for silk and mageweave . I'll check out the centaurs you mentioned. And thanks for the wowhead info good to know.

  • I've only listed places where I've found the drop rate to be better than 1 in 5 (20%+)

I have started adding co-ordinates for those of you that have a location addon.

Also adding the average levels of the listed mobs.

Feel free to add any good locations you know of, that I've missed.

N.B. where I've listed for example "Razormane mobs" that means any of the monsters within this family i.e. Razormane Quilboars, Razormane Geomancers, Razormane Defenders etc.

Also, Blizzard say that cloth only drops from "Humanoids". Now Humanoid by defintion, is something that walks upright on two legs. But not according to Blizzard. Centuars run around on four legs but are classed as Humanoid and Satyr's, whilst walking upright on two legs, are classed as "Demons" but still drop cloth, as do Undeads. Confused?

Thanks for putting me straight guys

    The Stockades

Probably the best place in the game to farm wool. As a Horde, you’ll die a couple of times getting here, but it’s worth it, if your after lots of wool. It’s a boring instance, but the mobs have a good respawn rate. So by the time you’ve cleared the instance all the mobs except the bosses will have respawned and you can just start clearing it again straight away. Recommend that you be level 50+ to make life easier and faster, otherwise it won’t be worth the time. A clear run generally nets me about 60-80 wool and it takes me about 20-30mins to clear.
