Why should "I" play Tabula Rasa?

What makes this MMORPG different than any other MMORPG? I don't want to grind another 2,000 fetch quests. I want to play an authentic, original, innovative game. So I'm asking, why should I play this game?

Check out some of the videos.
If any of those interest you wait for open beta and try the game for yourself.

Because, if you read/watch the interviews with Richard Garriot about Tabula Rasa, he clearly states that it's basically everything you said you want in an MMORPG.

It's Closed Beta for cryin out loud, what part of the game do think is even finished? I keep hearing that this is broke in the game or that doesnt work right, even why is this even like this, it needs such and such added to it. Seriously people if you going to judge a game on Closed Beta as to whether or not you going to play it then you really need to get the F out more. I can accept these types of responses from Open Beta becasue at that point it is merely stress testing a 90% ready product. But Closed Beta? Come on get your head out of your asses. The game is probably 60% of what we will see come release and every 2 weeks there is a new patch adding in stuff and taking out stuff FOR TESTING!!! Seriously the community here is rediculous 90% of the time, if it wasn't for the news updates I would not come here.

Are you joking because my .02 Cent investment counts a LOT and if they don't change it to what i want i am telling mommy. Now all joking aside i do agree with you on it's a beta and as we know it's still broken in places as it should be, if it were not i am sure it would be in the Store. what is Beta? well it is a Free ride to some. well my .02 is getting me noplace here so i am off to the Gas station to fill up the Dodge. (chuckles). on my .02, something tells me i may have to walk home. MOMeeeeee (rofl).
Can't tell anything about it, other than it is truly refreshing in my opinion.

No lore, a small explanation of : "aliens invaded us" doesnt count as lore, no inovation in mechanics, quest lines or gameplay is anounced. Just because it has a pseudo sci-fi cover doesnt mean it is inovative in any way from the traditional hack and slash.
Appealing to the FPS community and the youngsters it will have the most terrible community. Mature and experienced players should not put any hopes on this.
Well I can tell you this, you are right about one thing the community probably will suck cuz of the target audience but I'm guessing there will be servers that will have an older community on it and you should only have a few kids here and there. Also, you need to research a little more about the game cuz there is a ton of info out there. Here i'm going to post some links for you noobs to get some real info into your heads so you'll all STFU with these "this games going to suck" BS.

So far i havent been able to find anything ingame that i would label to being unique.
Cant talk much about it. But since all the press releases and interviews has been all about how the concept is completly new and its a truly unique game I have to say i'm not feeling it yet. Only played for a couple of weeks. Something should have popped up by now that could have impressed me...
Sadly press releases and the like are going to try and pump us up for these "unique things" but once you play em it gets you know..ehhh-ish.
Really we just gotta wait til the game comes out..=(
But i would like to add in all fairness of internet(s) openmindedness that its not a bad game, not at all. It just wasnt what i had expected. So anyone who havent tried it really should give it a go and form their own oppinions.
I have heard this from some beta testers, but one thing they forget to tell you is that they hadn't gotten pass lvl10. As I hear it the really kool stuff doesn't start happening till lvl20ish, before that it's just your typical go kill this guy or get me this many things kinda quests. Most MMO's have this it's an orientation to get you used to playing the game before you get to the harder areas and you don't get owned by the Bane.
quite frankly, i think this "alien invasion" does count as lore...its your purpose for staying in game: you have to fight off aliens- makes sense to me, but its entirely acceptable for a lot of people not to like this game. I personally cant wait to play it. Im sick of mmos of elves and old timey crap. Dont get me wrong- its not that i dont enjoy them, but the scene is getting a bit repetitive to me. From what I see now, TR looks pretty damn cool and i cant wait to pull out a heavy machine gun and just mow down aliens all day...its a constant fight, no BS, no waiting for shit to happen- pure action... looks nice.
Would also like to add that i'm more of a Planetside fan. Just to set the record straight here. :P

You do not own a beta account. You act like you know everything based on reviews and what you hear.
Being a fanboi is all fine, but don't walk around with blindfolders on please...
Now regarding TR:
I got a beta account, have had it for around 3 weeks and have achieved lvl 29.
The game itself is decent 3'rd person fps. But mmorpg or even mmo with depth - nope...
Due to NDA I cannot elaborate but I can say without a doubt in my mind as an experienced mmorpg player who started back in the days of UO: This will -NOT- be a major success unless they postpone the game and rehaul it...
for me the keyword for looking into a new mmo isn't NEW , for me the keyword is FUN.
So the question won't be what's new in tabula rasa, the really important question is: Tabula rasa is fun to play?
you can log in for an hour with your friends and do some open battlefield or instance and get fun and feel your "chararacter" has progresed ?
in the end all that matters is that (the fun factor) not the graphics or the new things that a game offers.
Gendark, TR is extremely fun to play and thats about all I can say on that due to NDA.
And as far as content over 20, you know its CLOSED BETA and less then half the content for that tier isnt eve in the BETA yet right? So I don't see how you can judge something that hasn't been implemented into BETA yet.
