    * List the things about Vanguard you want to debate
    * Create an argument for those things that you want to debate about (non-flamatory, objective, a conclusion can be reached at the end)
    * Keep it civil and use netiquette
These are the basics a person learns in any degree program. If you are not in college or have never been to college, than it's not too late to start practicing proper debate methods. I'm not preaching here, I am just trying to create a good atmosphere for Vanguardians and Anti-Vanguardians to coexist in the same forum without the immaturity.
Instead of boring you with a by-the-book definition of netiquette, I will summarize for you.
Netiquette is a standard way of communicating properly with others online. Proper netiquette does not include inciting flame wars, insulting other users, plagiarizing, or generally being disrespectful to others feelings. Remember, we are all human beings on the other side of the computer, just like you. You should treat others with the dignity and respect that you would want treated towards you. If you are the type that doesn't like to be treated with dignity and respect, at least do so to others so you aren't viewed as a troll, child, or any other manner of undesirable adult attributes.
    Thank you.

Great post JK.  It is sad that people spam boards with only their opinion and their hate, with no desire to attempt to engage in any actual discussion.

Teaching people how to behave in a respectful and mature fashion is a losing battle.  For the most part they are typical kiddies, between the age of 18 and 25, that desperately want and need attention.  So much anger, so much hate and such an overwhelming desire that people listen and pay attention to what they have to say.  Quite sad.  It makes me almost embarrassed that I was once young like them.

Regardless, nice post and its refreshing to see there are actual mature people out there that want actual discussion on boards minus the insults and personal attacks.

Thanks to all that are supporting me here. I like this website, because it is a central hub for MMORPG info. However, it is hard participating in the forums without getting attacked and it is good to know that there are other mature adults reading and participating on these forums. Sometimes I think I am getting too old for online gaming, but every time I run across another like-minded person, I am instantly refreshed. Good to know that Vanguard retained the good portion of the community. Some people see Vanguards population loss as a problem, while I see it akin to trimming the fat off of a nice steak. I do hope for more of a population increase, but I can do without if it means letting the stink in, if you know what I mean.

    Thanks

The funny thing is that I never used ad hominem, yet he did. You had better believe that I will call you out on inconsistent garbage and attacks on other members that aren't justified. I actually never posted that Vanguard was a bad game by itself, but that it had a lot of properties that would often suffice to call it a bad game. I even wrote a review on the game that was pretty positive for the most part, but none of you like to acknowledge facts it seems.

I'm not going to ever refrain from using sarcasm or other literary devices that serve to bring my point across and if you don't like it, then too bad.

    (The following you is collective)

You can block me, ignore me, report me, but I will continue to scan your posts and reveal any untruths I come across. I'm not intimidated by your numbers, or your opinions. I am familiar with the policies of this website, since I've been a member now for a few years.

Have a nice day and try not to die in a fire.

This is a sequence of characters intended to produce some profound mental effect, but it has failed.

I have a ton of problems witht he game i can't be bothered to type but all anyone needs to know is crap & ugly chaarcter models/races, bad animations and boring classes.

Breakdown in how Moostown's dislikes compare with other Vanguard haters:

crap and ugly character models: approximately 10% to 15% of haters agree with Moostown

bad animations: approximately 20 to 25% of haters agree with Moostown

boring classes: Moostown is alone on this one.

Well to get back to the main reason for the thread, I decided just  3 days ago to reinstall VG and give it another go.

I played beta and bought the game at pre-launch but stopped playing after the first month. There were just too many bugs for me at that time.

I have an intel core 2 duo 1.8ghz with 2gb ram and an nVidia Geforce 7900gtx 512mb card.

It ran reasonably well when I started playing beta but as it came closer to launch there were all sorts of problems and glitches. And these didnt get better when it did launch. I did however like the game well enough for what I played on it. Havent had a char beyond about 11 as I was trying out as many different classes as I could. Probably will do much the same just now to find a class /race combo that I really want to play.

On performance tho, it seems to be running a lot better than it did at launch although its still is apt to jump and stutter a bit, especially crossing chunks. I did a lot of the tweaks found in the Vangaurd forums here at MMORPG and they do help a lot. Maybe not with the stuttering but with fps, I am now running at about 40 fps in the noob areas. I have my graphics set at High with low textures. I havent been back to a big city like Qalia yet to see how its is there, but Im not expecting miracles just yet. I remember the days when they opened the bazaar on EQ and it was so crowded I literally couldnt move unless I looked at the floor. Now that was painful lol

The server Im on seems very quiet, which is a change from all the shouting that went on in beta and into launch. When Ive heard people on /ooc they seem to be helping each other or just having a bit of banter which is nice ^^

I started my chars again as I hadnt really done much since launch anyway, and I have taken my druid to lvl 8 and a blood mage also to level 8. I might go make a necro or an SK later today and see how they go. I always did like dark elfs in EQ, although my mains were druid and shaman there. Not so sure of druid here. But hey Im just gonna take my time and decide what to play as my main.

I am enjoying it tho for now, and just hope the performance stays as it is and doesnt start to bug me too much.

The levelling is slow, but thats fine, its not a race, and as long as I can get immersed in what Im doing I'll be happy. For now Im happy to give it another shot and see what it does for me.

just cancelled my sub, been playing a few weeks.

not a bad game at all,but nothing new and pretty tedious.

I had no performance issues AT ALL, on a PC that would have most vanbois misclicking their diplomacy turns in laughter. Perhaps even though its claimed 'next gen' its actually incompatible with certain newer components?Dunno, but it ran well on my very mid range system with a harddrive fault to boot. I ran at mid to high settings rather than fully maxed though,as full max I had stuttering in populated areas,as I did in lotro.

I didnt see many people around, though the chat channels were often busy. Some quests at low levels I had to skip as i couldnt get a required group.

Got bored very quickly of it tbh, cant see myself going back. Some great ideas in vanguard, its just a shame some of them were implemented so badly.
