Here is a question for you all --
Do you guys thinks a player should be able to roll both an Order and a Disorder character on the same server? My opinion is that a given account should only be able to be one or the other on any given server but I can see arguments both ways.
Comments
I would like to be able to have both Order and Destruction characters on the same server, as i want to roll a Chaos Chosen but I wouldn't mind having a Witch Hunter as well and it would be good having them on the same server. But there might be somethings wrong with doing that, that would affect the servers economy or something, people always find a way to screw up the game for everyone else.
PS It's Destruction, not Disorder
But yeah I would like to be able to roll both factions on the one server.
Eh, I don't really see any huge bonuses, and it would lead to alot of spies, best to just have one set faction a server.

Spies you will always have, nothing stops players to get a friends account that play on another server to make a char of the opposite faction. And making communication ingame impossible doesn't solve it either as mostly you got more then enough possibilities to communicate outside the game.

I said alot, not every single person who wants to try to cheat, alot of people wont even have friends on servers, they should want them to play with them.

I think i read somewhere that you can only choose one side per server.
Your right, my bad.
At the moment I myself am leaning towards limiting you to one side or the other on a given server but I can see why people would want to play both sides on a given server. I don't think it is a big deal one way or another but I was just curious where others stood.
not too long ago daoc allow ppl to make chars on any realms on the same server and shorten the login timer so I wont be surpirse if they do the same with WAR.
Yeah. I can't provide a link but they did already say one side per server to help prevent spies.
As for the OPs question. It doesn't really matter to me I guess. By doing it only one side per server they are preventing anyone from ever getting to know the opposite faction by being able to roll alts, which is exactly what they want I guess because they are the enemy. So I guess it's not a big deal to go to a different server to roll an Order character.

Remember man that passes by,
as you are now so once was I.
And as I am so must you be,
prepare yourself to follow me.
If you want to Play on the other Side...either delete all your existing chars, or make one on another server. That's already official.
And it's Order vs. Destruction. Not Order vs. Chaos, not Order vs. Disorder, not Order vs. Evil.
Order vs. Destruction.
Hehe "disorder"!
HELP...THE DISORDERED ARE COMING!!!
Back to topic:
I very much prefer the "only one faction per server" setup.
A "must have" in faction based PVP IMO.
Sure, some players will exploit the system. But it'll prevent most people from doing stupid things which could spoil the fun for everyone.
of course everyone would want one faction per server, it would be insanely idiotic to have it any other way. I dont want to kill someone and have him log on another character any flame the hell out of me, this would happen to nearly every person you killed.
I was watching some videos earlier today and it showed pictures of the login screen. The player then clicked on two separate characters and both where of opposing forces. Now I can only assume (and hope) that this is only due to the game being in beta phase. That this feature will be removed once the game goes retail.
The servers should be segregated based on faction. I can only see multi-factioned servers posing more of a problem.
In Beta, Mythic will want you to test both sides but I highly doubt they are running more than 1 public server. So the retail ruleset of having only one side per server can't really apply in this situation. When the game goes live, expect to see what DAoC did, only 1 realm per server on your account.
I will end the debate right here.
It is only 1 side per server.
Remember this is am RvR game and thus competitive, ulike wow and EQ. Having someone play both sides is a conflict of intrest especialy when things happen like large suprise raids on enemy teritory.
So, in closing. NO cant do it for the same server, but you can always roll on another server which would have the same effect!

ive seen movies like this, its just people playing on the computers at the conventions. Im guessing they had these so it didnt matter which computer you went to play on.
It would be the worst idea ever to do that. Thank god they aren't.
which Dukky are you?.... DAoC Alb/Igraine LVL 50 Cleric of Daieone Sith?

One side per server. Period.
I hope you'll only be able to play one side and not for the fact there might be spys or whatnot but it kinda makes you bond more with your own kind. Would be pissing boring if you'd go 'alright, we're doing bad today, ima change sides for a bit!'
Muy boring
Take the Magic: The Gathering 'What Color Are You?' Quiz.
The same language? Dammit. "Try the new and improved snitching - backstabbing the easy way!" So much for the surprise attacks. On the other hand - you'd be able to call the enemy names! Yay!
I would like to be able to make both on one server...BUT I DON"T THINK IT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA TO LET US DO SO
Honestly it would not be a good idea, its bad enough in other games with the side betraying when its convieniant. And yes it wont really affect people who have VOIP programs or know the home number of their buddy. But it will be an extra hurdle
Think of it like a speed bump: its a pain in the neck and annoying as hell, but without them it would be horrible to live in certain areas.
About WoW, Only on PvE servers you can make a Horde and Alliance characters. On a PvP server you can't. So they have the best of both worlds.

Happy! Happy! Joy! Joy!
i dont want people on both sides and choosing who to help with what. 1 side on a server,(say like you can only roll disorder on server A on all accounts linked to said credit card or address ect) since WAR is going to be such a PVP heavy game this is needed.
@OP: The title on this topic can still be renamed through editing. Disorder? Destruction!
