Anyway I am excited for Turbine, they put alot of hard work into this mmo, and are continuing to do so.

yah uh huh.  UK gamers are no different than most other gamers.  West is the West, East is the East and australia is just wierd.

there are loads of mmo's that get released that are polished and finished before release doesnt automatically make it a game worth 10 golden joystick awards....i think everyone is missing my point i ent dissing this game atall.....i still play this game for a matter of fact.....and will continue to do so......but i dont get why everyone is saying its worth all the 5 awards that its been nominated for or even this dippy who i have replied to (lobotomist) is saying its worth 10.....its a great game and has a bright future.....but i wouldnt place it on my top 3 list.......

You can't really say 'it doesn't deserve 5 awards' though... you have to look at each individual category and decide if it belongs there.

I mean a game could have god-like visuals, a stunning soundtrack, utter innovation in it;'s gameplay... and yet somehow just be dull as shit. But it would STILL deserve the awards for graphics, soundtrack and innovation, because that's all those categories are judging.

So... you can't say "it doesn't deserve 5 awards", because that implies it's like a rating system, which it isn't. It's a number of individual contents combined in to one event.

Also, remenber, TBC, latest GW thingy and LOTRO are the only realy MMO releases SO FAR this year. And no, I don't  count those free-to-play-oh-did-we-mention-you-have-to-spend-rl-money-to-stay-competative-now-go-and-kill-2000-of-this-mob-LOL games in that...

Anyway, yeah.. I do totally get what you're saying, I just think you're looking at the competition the wrong way...

LOTRO is a good game. I think that it should have been delayed about 9 months until they could have added more content and more

things to do (Player Housing).  It just couldn't keep my interest for long.

Also whether the game is your cup of tea or not LoTRO certainly raised the standards bar once again by releasing such a polished game with high quality and good performance. Perhaps the other MMORPG makers need to be looking at what Turbine is doing and try to improve their games.

Raising the bar ?  The bar shouldnt be moving. Turbine lowered it with Asherons Call 2  no crap they better raise it with this lol.

and SOE trashed  SWG, Mythic canceled Imperator, and Funcom released a huge stinking heap called Anarchy Online. That does not mean PoBS, WAR, and AoC will be heaps also. Maybe you should let go of the past and play games not publishing houses and you will be a happier gamer.

    I miss DAoC

    /agree

I really like LoTRO.  It's a fun game for casual gamers.  And I have a blast every time I log on to play.

I think you'll find that the chronic whiners dislike all mmogs in general.  For them no mmog is any good, because it's not a shooter, which is the only game type they really enjoy.
