Monthly fee + xBox 360

How are they going to handle the monthly fee situation, since if this game is coming out for 360, the people with xBox Live will be paying less for the game then the computer users? Are they dropping the monthly fee down from the standard $15, or are they charging more for xBox users? I really hope I'm not cheated out of cash for playing on computer.......

P.S. Once AoC is released for xBox, will the comingle computer and xBox users on the same server?

    HAHA dude it will be a monthly fee for xbox users too but they also have to pay for xbox live. so PC users will be gettin it for cheaper =P

    I'm sure that it will be done the same as Final Fantasy was on the 360.  you won't need to have xBox live for it.  You'll pay the same monthly fee that computer users pay.

    <Mod edit>

    Yes they will. This is as good as gospel. There will be a monthly fee. The Xbox live fee goes to Microsoft. Theres no way in hell that FUncom isn't going to want money to allow you to play on their servers. Your forgetting that Xbox games up untill this title play on a HOST Console that is playing the game, theres no SERVER to maintain. AoC will have to have a persistant server and maintain it, and that WILL NOT BE FREE...

    You must be retarted, do you think anyone with Xbox 360 would ever pay for live AND a monthly subscription to AoC? That's rediculous, it wouldn't sell at all, 360 gamers can play Halo 3 and GTA IV and countless other games that surpass AoC by a long shot and to think AoC would require a monthly subsription in addition to an xbox live subscription is stupid they would make NO money. So either it will be cheaper on 360 or it will be cheaper than $15 on the computer

    Yep.. thats absolutely the way it works. And trust me people will pay it too. After you've (dare I say) Invested in an Xbox 360 people are going to want to play AoC on their big screen tv's and will pay the extra scratch.

    But really what are we looking at here. The normally fee for a MMO, you kind of expect to pay that anyway, its a given. So lets get real, the Xbox Live fee is $49.99 a Year. Thats roughly $4.16 a month. I know people (me included) who spend more than that each week on frivolous junk.

    Yup, AoC will most likely use the same subscription model used by FFXI on the 360. Which means that you will have to pay the standard AoC monthly subscription fee, probably $14.99, in addition to any XBOX-Live subscription fees. The same goes for anyone that has the PC version of AoC, if you are stupid enough to actually pay $50 to subscribe to Games for Windows-Live, you will still have to pay the $14.99 monthly sub for AoC.

    This is what pisses me off about the whole GfW-Live initiative, M$ is trying to get PC gamers to pay for things that have always, and should remain free on the PC. But that's a topic for another thread.

    Forgive me for being a bit off topic, but this is the first I've heard of this.  Games for Windows - in order to play any of these games, we have to pay $50.00 to Microsoft?  Being a bit naive to this...why?  I hope I'm misunderstanding this, but I fear I'm not.

    If you are going to play on the Xbox 360 you will need to have an Xbox Live active subscription as well as the normal MMO monthly fees.  Nothing out of the ordinary.

    Of course on the PC you won't have to - just the standard MMO fees.

    If that's true, it's a bad move for Funcom.  Plenty of people with a 360 don't pay for Live.

    You cannot blame Funcom, I don't think Funcom will have a say in the matter...It's Microsoft who run XBox Live not Funcom.

    Microsoft did it with Final Fantasy - why would this game be any different?

    Pretty much yeah.....just like XBOX-live there are two tiers of GfW-live service. silver and gold. All Games for Windows games that have multiplayer components are playable w/ a silver membership but all the features we've come to expect in our multiplayer games is stripped out. You know, things like VoIP (Voice chat), matchmaking, server browsers all that good stuff is only available to those that pay the $50 gold subscription fee. Sadly you were not misunderstanding, Microsoft is trying to charge PC gamers for things we've been getting for free for.....well forever.
