If you think this is any different to other MMOs you're sadly mistaken.
does that mean you have to like it? I think ppl expect something more from blizz... with all that $$$ expectations are high, but I cant see them moving away from their current model which is very effective at bringing more $$$ which is what it's all about ofc

I have a feeling that most people who post on this site don't like MMOs at all.
Still waiting for your Holy Grail MMORPG? Interesting...
lol I like how all the WoW players dread lvl cap announcements because they hate the game's core content so much. That or, the people complaining have no sense of immersion and simply cannot read quest dialogue and get somewhat interested in the game they are playing. Story never was WoW's strong point though.
I love how everyone is sweating over the next expansion even though it's more than likely at least 6 months away.
That's a lot of time to indulge in all the current end-game content... A lot of time to farm Illidan, a lot of time to get your arena gear and use it for a few months.
People cry like lobsters falling into boiling water when they are afraid of losing their "hard work" and places of power in WoW. It's a game. Enjoy it... If it's come to the point where it's a job and you log on saying "f**k I gotta do this now", then it's probably better to do something else?
It's a shame because if Blizzard put all there efforts in re-building the old world, maby improving the AI of mobs, sorting out all the 1 - 60 items and things like that they could be on to something good. But! by not doing this 1 - 80 is just going to be a hellish grind where nobody will want to do it without power leveling and then buying gold once they reach 80.
How come it happens only in WoW? I mean.. EVE just released their new expansion, Revelations II. it had new rigs, new ship types, bucketloads new skills, new areas. I do not see anybody going "oh noes... now I have to buy a new battlecruisers and get a new loads of stuff and inventions and tech 2 stuff and so many new skills to train! damn you CCP!!!"
well did all the old ships in EvE become obsolete? I doubt it tbh...
actually... tech 2 ships ARE much better than tech 1 ships. and they requires a lot more time to learn the skills to fly them.

I cant speak for anyone else, but in my experience most forums got a few bad eggs who are just there for fighting.
Anyways, I played WoW for 2+ years and got tired of it. Cant say its a bad game coz I had a great time for the most part. 2nd only to preCU SWG in my book. I got BC first day ofc, remember ppl were saying it was gonna be awesome but I just didnt see it. Endgame is exactly the same as preBC and arena doesnt make for good PvP imho, and worldpvp is a joke. Eventually I promised myself I wasnt gonna get caught in teh endless timesink that is WoW endgame and quit (for the last time haha ).
Now I know every other game out there is probably the same so I'm not saying its a WoW specific problem or that WoW sucks, I just think they could do more with it but they dont coz they care about a wider audience and ofc $$ (which is true of any company).
Playing EvE atm coz I like the PvP mostly... In WoW killing the mobs/bosses just isnt enough for me coz they are all the same. After u down a boss the first time, its just and endless grind for drops, no real thrill. But when you engage in PvP you never know what's gonna happen, there's the thrill for me at least.
**** these are just opinions, anyone is free to comment but plz refrain from namecalling coz I didnt jump anyone and if you get upset enough by me not liking WoW to call me names you got serious issues

I'm thinking there were tech2 ships before revelations II?
I don't play WoW or EQ2, but I have played both. How is EQ2 any different? In EQ2, you may have a higher percentage of mature community members to a$$hats; more classes; and more content up until max level; yet in the end, you either raid or do nothing at all. I'm not flame baiting either. I just truly want to know, because maybe I mis-judged this game and quit too soon. Although I don't know if I can get over the way everything is zoned.
MMORPG's w/ Max level characters: DAoC, SWG, & WoW
Currently Playing: WAR Preferred Playstyle: Roleplay/adventurous, in a sandbox game.
Regarding the level 1-60 (or 70) revamp...they were talking about making it easier to level up, to encourage people to play with alts. Which is great news to me, because it takes ages to get up there. It'll be interesting to see how they implement it.

Tip: You don't have to do STV to level up.
