2 years ago, I got an ad mail from Funcom about AO trial. I download the client for abt a day and installed it. The game lasted abt 10mins before I quit and uninstall it. Never look back.

Last year, I got the same mail again. Well after playing EVE Online for quite sometime, I decide to try again cos maybe I'm not really look at the game.

So I download the client for a day (sheeesh!!!) and installed it after I got back from work. Why on earth is the graphics so blocky and I can't even see 5m ahead???

Unable to find any proper shortcut key and help, as I walk abt and accidentally dropped inside the water. Swam for the whole 30min before I said thats enuff.

I promptly uninstalled it.

This year, I got this mail again. LMFAO, they are persistant.....but wait......fun factor 8.2?? Can't be true

This time I read the AO forum, and feel the urge again....gotta discover more......

 

So I download the client (yeah yeah, a day u see ), installed it.

 

I see the same old 5m FOV and same old interface. So I log and tweak the gfx setting to HIGH and log back in.

LMAO, it is beautiful.

 

I got myself a printed rookie help and gone thru the beginner island. And, and....and I got hooked to this game.

 

Boy, wish I play this 2 years ago.

    That's a great example of what happens when you don't give a game a chance..I mean ...clipping plane...graphics setting high....tweaked just those 2 things alone and you would have been with the big boys now...

     

    Sadly on trial accounts you miss out on ALOT of the game...much of the most enjoyable content are only accessible by us paying players.

    Battlestations

    Dreadloche Camps that require Mechs

    Shadowlands

    Shades/Keepers

    Alien Playfields

    AO Social Clothing...

    There's really far too much to list that froobs do not get to see.

    Well, I do pay for this game now (Nortum War).

    Many places and stuff to explore and experiment atm, over whelming tbh

    Since I'm only at LvL15 (Hunter, yay!), and much of the high end stuff n toys maybe out of reach for me, I'll take my time now. I guess I'm slightly better than froobs in terms of game goodies.

    Hmmm, Hunter isn't a Profession...maybe you mean Adventurer?

     

    Anyway, the game is in re-vamp over haul atm and will be even better on completion. New servers and graphics engines will make a huge impact.

    All day downloads do seem a bit excessive, maybe a different ISP or possibly better PC?

    Now that you have finally discovered AO, enjoy it and take notes as it will get even more involved as you lvl...
