Since everyone talks about the reason why so many mmorpgs are getting flamed on these forums all the time is because no game can match that first WOA moment; I was just wondering what was the greatest moment for you in an MMO? My first WOA experience was when I saw my friend play EQ and the first time I saw Freeport. I couldn't believe that a game could be so immersive. But by far the one moment that absolutely WOWED me was my first siege in Shadowbane. Defending a city from hundreds of players was the greatest gaming experience I've ever had.

I'm not quite sure actually...it might have been when I first switched over from Runescape to Guild Wars...I was pretty wowed when I saw that the combat was a lot more than just swinging your arm a few inches to hit the other opponent.
seeing a Dark Elf for the first time in Lineage 2

It would probably have to be my first frontier battle on DAOC. My guild and a couple of our friend's guilds were trying to hold a keep against over a hundred Midgard players. The battle was the most coordinated thing I have ever seen in an MMO. You know, like we had people yelling orders and using tactics and such, like a real battle might have been back then.
My fondest memory and my biggest WOW moment came on my first day in FFXI.
I've played several other mmorpgs long before FFXI so I was no stranger to the genre. But stepping out into FFXI vast areas for the first time, Onion Sword in hand, swatting at Bees in the Gustaberg region for the first time was awe inspiring. The music was so beautiful and haunting. My character wasn't just some tiny pixelated sprite on the computer monitor. I'm standing there in a vast wasteland and even though my hulking Galka takes up a quarter of the screen, I'm still dwarfed by the size and scope of the game.
I still enjoy creating new characters just so that I can relive that experience over and over again. It's actually really special to me.
To think of all those players in the mad dash to 75 without savoring the journey in between. It's the love of the ride that's most important to me.
My best memory was the first time I was running around the forest in Ultima Online and got killed by another player. I proceeded to return to my body and find everything on it was gone. I will never forget the way full loot pvp made my heart beat faster.
My favorite memory was in UO. I had just stolen something and ran up to my buddy in an inn to tell him I had just stolen something in front of the guards and not gotten caught. As soon as I hit enter I got myself guard whacked lol
The awkward conversations I had with my first guildmates in pre-CU SWG...lol. Guildie: "I love you!" Me: "Oooookaaaaay..."
My best memory in a MMO was probably in FFXI aswell . I knew the graphics where pretty decent but when I first stepped into Boyada Tree(i think thats how its called) i was amazed at the scenary of the place. The waterfalls the plants and the ponds etc was pretty amazing and breath taking for the first time.
my favorite mmo moment was when .....
i took a ex-guildies guild hall....he was paying to use my lots, well actuallu he never got around to paying me, thus me takeing the guild hall. Me and my bro cleaned a fully furnished guild hall in less then 10 minutes (LOL Talk about FULL Banks), Then getting a tell from the guy saying ..... "my guild hall disapeared!!!" lol it was so hilarious to see a huge empty space right in the heart of the city after we took it..... we sold it and bought 2 med naboo houses, and fully furnished them with the stuff we stole ... it was quite an expirience.
