Should I play again?

in Guild Wars

I have played many MMO's over ther past few yers.  Lineage 2 being my favorite by far. 

I'm trying to make myself more of a casual gamer and not get so involved in one game that obsesses me. 

I'm seriously thinking about reinstalling guild wars and starting fresh.  I played for about 3 weeks when the game first came out, but I have yet to play any since then.  Is the game still very solo friendly? because that is one thing I am tired of with L2...I always have to have a group now to do anything effectively.  And as we all know, L2 is mostly gear dependent (despite what many L2 pvp "Pr0's" say  ) and certain classes can always beat others if everyone has equivalent gear.  I dont feel like putting in another 3 months of grinding just to get a few parts of the next best grade of gear...

I can say that I'm very easy to get along with, but I get annoyed with people sometimes, so grouping isn't always favorite. 

Also, what rases/classes do you guys recommend for someone who likes ranged attacking?  I also wouldnt' mind trying out a tank.

Can I expect to get rare drops and items while playing?  That's one thing I love playing L2 for.

    Solo as in by yourself with no other characters around very few places with very specific builds.  Solo as in you and a group on NPC's you control, then yes.

    Ranged combant comes in the form of Ranger/Paragon for physical, and Elementalist/Necromancer/Ritualist/Mesmer for magic.  Warriors and Dervished are the obvious tanks.

    There are rare drops...referred to as "Greens" which are dropped by bosses.  These items are max and un-modable, they come set up with their own traits.  Each boss has their own set of drops.

    If you need a guild and you are up late I am on pretty much everyday at 6:30 PM PST until 12:00 AM PST....in game names for my mains are Elaine Aes Sedai / Rollen The Dice / Wheel of Time Killa.  My guild is 80+ total people and PvE oriented and have members across all three games and part of an alliance.  Name of guild is Balthazars Eternal Guard

    Sure, the more the merrier.  A lot of people are coming back to the game in preperation for GW:EN.  It is funny the things people forget when they have been away for a while.

    I am part of a Kurzick alliance...I think we are at 8-9 Guilds currently.  We have a little bit of faction around 1.5 million.  But like I said we are mostly PvE.  I am about 12 deposits short of my next rank which will be 6 in that track. 

    Anyways, what type of guild are you?  Do you have quite a few people in it.  Reason I ask is our alliance leader only takes in new guilds that have solid player bases of 30-40 members.

    Alliance leader here, but some fo the guilds have gone quiet and one merged with us...   Multigame and also affiliated to The Sanitarium, so not gonna join another, but cheers anyway, we are looking for scrimm partners though, so if you want to gvg, let us know
