I wonder, will there ever be non-expansion servers on WoW? Like on Diablo 2.
When TBC came, it ruined wow for me and most of my friends, sadly. So we quit.
(Please don't post comments like; you noob, TBC poon. And so on)

Mythic did this with Dark Age of Camelot - made a server devoid of all their expansions. BTW, I have to say that DAoC was my favorite MMO of all time. I know that some people say that the classes were broken, etc - but before Trials of Atlantis, DAoC did it right. The idea of three different realms to play with many different class trees was great. That's what I hate about WoW. The lack of choice and replayability.
Anyway, but back to the OP's comment. The classic server on DAoC is the only one that people play now. The other servers with all the expansions generally have about 50-100 people on any one of them (that's all 3 realms, so, at their best 33 people in each realm). But the Classic Server has about 3200 people playing. Which isn't bad for an mmo so old.
That being said, if WoW were to do something like that, which I don't think they will, especially with a new expansion coming out that not only lengthens the grind, but doesn't provide any more replayability - they would have to create numerous servers for that. The serverload would be terrible.

No, I can bet good money there wont ever be such servers - at least in the short run.
"Classic" servers would be quite costly to operate for Blizzard (yeah I know money is something Blizzard has, but anyway) since they have to separately produce patches for them. And let's not forget a separate QA division.
It would also be a PR nightmare for Blizz to explain that their upcoming expansions are the greatest, and by the same time explain why some servers wont support them.
For me that would be a reason to start playing again... I also lost interest in WoW after the launch of TBC.
Yeah, me too.
Most of the people I used to play with agree, that the classic wow is much better than TBC. My opinion is that they would have alot more players if they did the same as on Diablo; non-expansion servers.
Very doubtful this would even happen. During the 10 day BC trial that i have just recently had, there was still an ongoing discussion about BC making all pre-BC content obsolete. LOL when i asked why there was no AH in BC city, i was told, they didnt want to make everything empty on the pre-bc area's. I had to laugh at that point. The non-expansion servers idea was already brought up and answered by a blue saying that would never happen. So it does look like you lvl up to 58 as fast as possible then go play in teh BC area's and forget about any pre-bc content.
However after saying that, i am bored and am still thiniking whether to order BC from game.ltd or not. I did think about EQ2, but their latest expansion isnt out yet (or isnt on retail, just download) but after VG, i am somewhat reluctant to pay them for being ripped off.
This really upset me
I don't see why it should be such a problem for them to make 10-20 classic servers There's already about 100 servers or so ?
I mean, they don't HAVE to make patches for the "classic" ?
Ye but you are "living" a warcraft story...and show must go on...in new expansion we will reach end of warcraft and continue to unexplored areas of warcraft lore...

Would you like some cheese with that whine?
Exactly, why would I even need to go through Dead Mines, Gnomer, Zul, Ulda, even BRD when its just going to slow me down in the long run???
Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL!
The Burning Crusade is the same damn game, how the heck can more of the same content "ruin" the game?
Probly not since one they put out the expansion they will complete ignore anything that isn't lvl 68+ content in the new lands like they did with the last Xpac.
