WoW haters brighten up my day with their twisted logic.
Lad, thats not twisted logic. Or do you like doing what others do? Do you like wearing the same clothes as most others do? Do you like to do everything what masses do? If not then don't bring up arguments like 9 mil people play it, it must be great.
Your right its not twisted logic its Thillian logic. Did you know WoW had 9 million players..... it must be great.
Do you drive a car like the masses do? do you live in a house like the masses do? do you go to work like the masses do? do you eat like the masses do? do you talk like the masses do?
If you can't see the difference there no point of talking to you any more.
And if you cannot be reasonable and subjective then theirs no point you contributing to this thread.
I don't think the Death Knight spells doom for WoW, maybe by the time they add 4 more Hero classes, it might to start to take a toll.
Why do people think that WoW is doomed to fail. After 3 years it still isn't going down hill. The only thing that will kill WoW is when Blizzard releases their second MMO. I don't think that will happen in the next 5 years. So I guess we'll still be debating the doom of WoW in the next decade
The only people who hate wow are the people who are experiencing MMO BURNOUT. They think any other new mmo is going to give them the fix they need and they are wrong, they just want something to blame and wow is a great easy thing to blame.
Fact is, even if you don't like to admit it, wow offers you everything all the other mmo's offer in a better package.

WoW offers no feature that I like in DDo and why I play it. I want deep character customization, hard gameplay, not autoattack+1-2-3 combat, xp death penalty, and great fast dungeon design. WoW has none of those.

I have a level 14 wizard in DDO lol.. im sorry to say it is completely the opposite of being hard. In fact it's quite annoying how many times you get in groups where there are kids who can't be over 8 years old with their mosquito voices talking nonstop. Granted, you can't customize your character nearly as much as in DDO with feats and such, you can nearly with talents in wow. Because despite what they offer you in ddo, just like in every other D&D based game, there is always a best build no matter what.

You want to compare DDO character customization with any other game that has fixed class system? Of course there are stronger builds and weaker, but you can play anything you like. You want to hide? Take a level of rogue, you want to heal ? Take a level of cleric, you want to be a good archer? take a ranger level. And you end up being cleric/rogue/ranger. Probably not as strong as other builds but it offers a lot of fun.
I was never in a group in DDo with kids with mosquite voice, i dont know what are you talking about. Maybe there are a few on-trial 10 days free on lower levels, but surely not at higher levels.
And difficult gameplay? For sure, there is a huge difference between good players and bad players at how good they dodge or block or just jump around knowing who to attack. The combat is more FPS style not autoattack+1-2-3. Surely much more immersive to do a right click attack and tumbling around not to get hit then just relly on your Dodge chance or parry chance.
Can you please give me an example in music or movie industry of a product that is very popular in compare to its competition, and it's also a quality product?
Is that honnestly the best you can do? Compare it to a complete different industry?
Ofcourse there are many other examples. Final Fantasy is seen by critics as the best RPG series, and its also the best selling console role playing game. coincidence? I think not.
Ofcourse there are exceptions to the rule, but Quality and Quanity are often related.
If a game can have 9 million subscribers for over 2 years now, then its obviously doing something right.
Wait let me get it right. Do you think that people that write game reviews are actually critics? Believe it or not, but requirements to become a game reviewer is a good writing technique. Nothing else. There is no requirement that would show how good is the person's ability to evaluate games.
You think that when wow has 9 mil subscribers 2 years now its a mark of quality. I heavily disagree. Appealing to mass market and being a quality product is opposing to each other. You can't appeal with a quality product on mass market, because the critical thinking of an average consumer is terribly low. Everyone that is in the business knows that including politics. Thats why populistic politicans can even get 40% in elections.
WoW haters brighten up my day with their twisted logic.
And WoW lovers always succeed in stunning me with their complete lack of logic or any intelligence whatsoever. The reason WoW has become so popular is becuase people don't want to think, they just brainless entertainment.. besides, it's not really a coincidense that so many of the WoW players are kids, in fact, ain't all WoW players kids? They must be... In their minds at least, becuase what kind of grown up person would enjoy running around in that fairy world.. You can't kill other player(unless they agree to duel.. omg wtf?), you can't loot players, you spend all your time doing stupid instances and the entire game is so item focused it's pathetic..

yeah like zomg you WoWers so omgz stupidz i dunno what to say so i'll just BS some about a game i clearly haven't played anywhere near endgame and don't really know the details about -
For a start how are any of the things you just suggested a reason for lacking logic or intelligence? If someone likes something you don't are they automatically stupid? i'll admit there are some kids in WoW, particularly on the alliance, however from my experience the majority are adults. I don't know whether that's because of my server and i'm horde, but still i think 'ain't all WoW players kids' is a bit of a statement.
I've played end game content on both the alliance and horde and didn't have nearly as much trouble as you claimed to have had. i'd really like to know whether you've actually played WoW properly. When you reach the end-game, find a decent guild and make some goods friends, please give me a bell.
Also you can play on PVP servers where you're allowed to attack anyone in select areas, obviously being able to attack players anyway would be stupid as high levels could just go around killing noobs - ie it would suck. Personally i prefer it that you can't loot other players as well, from my experience it starts getting depressing when someone kills you over and over and you keep losing your hard earned money.
As far as the death knight hero class goes i think it'll add a whole new dimension to the game - obviously on it's own it would be next to useless but with other new hero classes i think it'll be an excellent addition to the game. I don't think it's fair to automatically think the game is doomed because of one new class being released whilst not knowing about the various others. I'm looking forward to the new hero classes and all of the new content - and i think that WoW will still being going strong in the many years to come.

By your statement, you would fit in WoW just fine.
Well its one of the reasons i quit WoW and went to FFXI lol And ofc the raised lvl cap 80 That means once again everything in outlands and what we'v worked for useless... lol
I don't mean to single you out, because lots of people have said this sentiment, including the OP, but, I don't quite understand.....
What is the alternative to expansions that add a new segment of content with better equipment? If each expansion gave new content, but none of the itemization was any better than what had come before, what would be the point in playing that content? How else could expansions be done if you were to eliminate the idea of 'raising the bar'?
Imho, mmorpgs are suppose to be about adventuring to get better stuff, so when I top out in a game, i feel stagnated, like i've 'won' the game. I have always looked forward to expansions because it means new dungeons and new loot to drool over....I'm not sure what else could get me excited in a world that is suppose to be ever changing and growing...
Don't take SWG jedis for example, they are not how the Death Knights will work.
Look at the Kheldians in CoX. Kheldians doesn't shaft any regular players, while adding many interesting options. Jedis shaft pretty much 99% of the player base who isn't playing one. So there are no comparaison there. EPIC classes doesn't tank better, they doesn't do more DPS, they doesn't heal better...then the best specialists...but they do extremely well in EVERY topic (some restrictions may applies, such as when healing it prevent you from doing damage and so on).
That's been said, I rather play with the game that think of the good ideas then with the game which copy it with some poor and bad ideas from many competitors (such as raiding endgame for example).
Maybe now but not pre nge or cu... i fought beside and against jedi and never thought wow i really need to be one of those. Why, simple while they were very strong they took a lot of effort to be. Also with CM/rifle combo or tkm /fencer, or swords etc, you can stand toe to toe with them ... BH too. As for how its going today i have no clue nor do i care but just saying. I agree with what ur saying about CoX, but to be honest i couldn't give a ... no new character should have to be unlocked in a game... i mean it. (unless its quite easy to do so, ie grandia espada). Why becuase new players who are paying the same amount should be able to use a new class ... I mean after all if that is what they want to play then why make them level another class first .. thats crazy.

I am not sure what will happen to WoW with the Death Knights, but what I have read is that they can tank and damage pretty well without having to spec one way or another. If this is true, then what's the point of having a warrior?

First off this isn't another 'WoW is Doomed' thread despite the title. I play WoW, I like WoW, it is certainley better than most games on the market. However, I plan to be long gone before the alpha class arrives. The fact is I do not like WoW enough to commit to the insane amount of hours I used to put up in games like EQ and SWG. I already fell stunted in PVP, despite being a level 70 MS spec'd war. It's going to take weeks of lost battles in the arena to earn enough faction to gear myself out. The timesink is just to great in comparison to the achievments. The horizon looks promising, AoC, STO, Gears of War on PC this christmas. Odds are I'll have found something to pique my interest, because running from one 14 year old death knight strait into another seems like the height of tedium to me. If there is anything more boring than grinding out this 'hero class' I'm quite sure it's getting ganked by it, over and over and over.
the deathknight is the signal that blizz is getting desperate and that WoW is dieing, with all the grinding and boring content, people will soon want something different than start the griding and raiding game all over again and soon will go to other games WoW is already dieing from internal problems, external competion will surely spell its doom.
Its always fun to meet people from another world. So how is WoW doing in your world Trizap? Because in the real world, World of Warcraft went from 8,5 million subscribers to 9 million subscribers in a few months, and the info you just posted is a whole load of crap you pulled out of your ass.
I mean seriously, do you even think before you type something? "Blizzard added a hero class, the game must be on the edge of death"
Newsflash:
Blizzard said they were planning hero classes a few months after release of the game. There are lots of MMO's that added new classes, it does not even HINT that the game is dieing.
9 million subscribers? bah I don't buy that, there is no way there can be 9 mil subscribed to WoW. you are judging WoW's quality on the quantity of players playing it and guess what? quantity doesn't equal quality, WoW only has all these subscribers why? because 9 million people are idiots.
why is the death knight a signal that Blizz is getting desperate? because they know AoC and WAR is coming and they are trying to add things to keep people in WoW, they are obviously failing
Yes there can be 9 million subscribers.
World of Warcraft's Subscriber Definition
World of Warcraft subscribers include individuals who have paid a subscription fee or have an active prepaid card to play World of Warcraft, as well as those who have purchased the game and are within their free month of access. Internet Game Room players who have accessed the game over the last thirty days are also counted as subscribers. The above definition excludes all players under free promotional subscriptions, expired or cancelled subscriptions, and expired prepaid cards. Subscribers in licensees’ territories are defined along the same rules.
Didn't I just told you to educate yourself first?
And the game is a good game, it received high critic scores, tons of awards and 9 million subscribers. Just because you don't enjoy the game does not mean its a bad game, I suggest you accept that you're opinion is not fact.
And give me ONE piece of evidence that Death Knight is a signal that Blizz is getting desperate. Why would Blizzard care about AoC and WAR? Both games are made by companies that didn't top 250k subscribers with their previous games, and Lotro and SWG prove that an IP means jack.
They aren't failing, you're just blinded by your hatred for the game. I suggest you stop posting in this topic, you're just emberassing to every WoW hater.
I love how through your idiocy, you don't realize how repitive and boring the game is, thus leading to your defiance that WoW is bad a game, there fore leading to this twisted reasoning you call an argument, meaning your one of the 99% who is so blind that they actually think WoW is good when actually its so dumbed down all you do in it is grind and raid for gear in a never-changing world, where the raids are just the same thing painted different colors, involving no skill and the same boring technique, no randomness, zero adapitibility where the only motivation to even group for such garbage you call raids is gear, while pvp involves twitch skills to remain alive for more than 30 seconds, in little instanced pockets of land that lead to the same repititive gaming style that is present throughout WoW. high critic scores, and awards are awarded from people who look at it from the side, while those 9 million are idiots because the average player cares more about shiny graphics than interesting and unique gameplay, you are one of them, and am someone who knows better

Oh look, another pathetic elitist who think his opinion is fact.
1: Those proffesional critics + 9 million people are correct that a game company that is known for creating quality games releases a high quality game, Trizap is wrong
2: 14 year old Trizap who has no experience in judging games whatsoever is right, all profesional critics are wrong.
Yup..I'll go for number 1.
I suggest you stop being so full of yourself.
Your opinion is not fact, its that simple.
If people cared about shiny graphics, they would be playing a game like Lineage 2 or Lord of the Rings Online. oops, there goes your entire arguement.
You know better? just keep telling yourself that, it probably makes you feel happy. Someday you'll learn that you didn't know better, and what you showed today is typical teenage arrogance.
Poor Trizap. He must be so lonely. By his definition, not agreeing with him and showing logical and valid arguments is being "an idiot" so you must be unable to argue with about all the persons around but the ones like you that just look one point and repeat the same thing over and over without looking what other offers.
Well, I'm sure there are some of those.. but discussion with those types tend to be more like a yelling contest.
Well, have a nice day in your yelling world.

Please play the game then come back and correct your post.

yeah like zomg you WoWers so omgz stupidz i dunno what to say so i'll just BS some about a game i clearly haven't played anywhere near endgame and don't really know the details about -
For a start how are any of the things you just suggested a reason for lacking logic or intelligence?
Here, let me point it out to you.
WoW: Most subscribers

By your statement, you would fit in WoW just fine.
I have always looked forward to expansions because it means new dungeons and new loot to drool over....I'm not sure what else could get me excited in a world that is suppose to be ever changing and growing...
just my 2 cents

I am not sure what will happen to WoW with the Death Knights, but what I have read is that they can tank and damage pretty well without having to spec one way or another. If this is true, then what's the point of having a warrior?
Why can't paladins damage?

Its always fun to meet people from another world. So how is WoW doing in your world Trizap? Because in the real world, World of Warcraft went from 8,5 million subscribers to 9 million subscribers in a few months, and the info you just posted is a whole load of crap you pulled out of your ass.
I mean seriously, do you even think before you type something? "Blizzard added a hero class, the game must be on the edge of death"
Newsflash:
Blizzard said they were planning hero classes a few months after release of the game. There are lots of MMO's that added new classes, it does not even HINT that the game is dieing.

9 million subscribers? bah I don't buy that, there is no way there can be 9 mil subscribed to WoW. you are judging WoW's quality on the quantity of players playing it and guess what? quantity doesn't equal quality, WoW only has all these subscribers why? because 9 million people are idiots.why is the death knight a signal that Blizz is getting desperate? because they know AoC and WAR is coming and they are trying to add things to keep people in WoW, they are obviously failing
Yes there can be 9 million subscribers.World of Warcraft's Subscriber Definition
I love how through your idiocy, you don't realize how repitive and boring the game is, thus leading to your defiance that WoW is bad a game, there fore leading to this twisted reasoning you call an argument, meaning your one of the 99% who is so blind that they actually think WoW is good when actually its so dumbed down all you do in it is grind and raid for gear in a never-changing world, where the raids are just the same thing painted different colors, involving no skill and the same boring technique, no randomness, zero adapitibility where the only motivation to even group for such garbage you call raids is gear, while pvp involves twitch skills to remain alive for more than 30 seconds, in little instanced pockets of land that lead to the same repititive gaming style that is present throughout WoW. high critic scores, and awards are awarded from people who look at it from the side, while those 9 million are idiots because the average player cares more about shiny graphics than interesting and unique gameplay, you are one of them, and am someone who knows betterthis has been a flame form your friendly neighborhood Trizap

Oh look, another pathetic elitist who think his opinion is fact.
Guess what:
These people disagree with you.
http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages4/534914.asp
In fact, these people disagree with you as well:
www.blizzard.com/press/070724.shtml
Lets see:
"If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day, if you teach him how to fish, you feed him for a lifetime"
Oh please. save the drama. You're acting like a kid. If you can't hold a decent discussion without flaming, then go away.
