Is the pvp active (will i have to spend all day looking for people to pvp)
Do i have to buy both games to PvP?
is there a free trial to experience the full game (14 day all access style) (not trial isles or the like)
what's the most overheard reason as to why people eventually quit the game
Looks like a real fun game, always was hesitant to break from my fantasy MMO addiction, but actually looking for something new now, any answers would help.
Thanks!

PvP is somewhat active -- there are 4 dedicated zones for it, I'm not sure if base raids work as I'm not part of a supergroup.
You can purchase both games in 1 box, the good versus evil edition, and get 1 month free subtime. The price ranges from 15-30.00. Or, you could buy the games seperately, possibly as low as 5 bucks each if you get lucky, and then get 1 month free for each game....so in theory spend 10-15 dollars and get a 2 month free. The only downside to the latter plan is that the GvE edition has a few perks (a jump pack, a teleporter and some costume bits.)
Otherwise, I've tried to summarize the good and the bad of COH here: http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/post/1552023#1552023
i play on Champion and its pretty active there also
Since your first two questions both mentioned PvP, you should know that the game ranks much higher as a PvE game than as a PvP one. People do fight each other in the PvP zones and the Arena (and in bases to a much much lesser extent), and there are some interesting aspects designed into it. But you should think of PvP as an add-on to the PvE game, not as a foundational basis.
If you want something with PvP integrated seamlessly all through, CoH isn't it.
