Warning about pre-order access!

I went ahead and purchased the pre-order thinking I could get in tonight and help "Find Richard!" as it says you'll get (among other things):

"A serial code for unlocking bonus in-game content and beta access"

as it turns out, after you pay your money you get an email that informs you that "beta access" does not mean you get into the current closed beta:

"As a pre-order Richard Garriott's Tabula Rasa customer, you are

 eligible for exclusive in-game content and Beta Test access.

We will contact you at this e-mail address again once pre-order

 customers are able to enter into the beta."

This borders on misrepresentation and false advertising, and is nonetheless dissapointing.  (I hope ncsoft marketing changes this in their advertising

The above still holds true.  However!    TR Support techs on their internal forums have been super responsive (very impressive!!!), and as of this time, I can get in, as can many others.  I don't know if this means all pre-order can get in now, or if it's my fileplanet key getting me in, AND, this may change at any time (it seems they're trying to clarify who comes in when right now).  But for now, I'm able to get in,!  

I'm off to make the most of my login while I can!  Gonna go kil me some aliens and keep to the NDA!

I wouldn't call it false advertising. Maybe poor wording.

A lot of games offer some form of beta access to pre-orders, but it's rarely the early closed phases. It's usually closer to launch, a phase or two before the open beta (or the release itself, if there is no open beta)

Anyhow it is a bid wierd that you do not get in seeing that FP subscribers can get in now for a period of like 9 days. Maybe they wanna wait till that end or some other reason. Also they increase the amount of poeple every month. So I assume they want to control that espect and you will most likely be part of the new group of poeple being allowed access to the beta.

I would say keep us informed whatever you get in or not soon, but that would be against NDA....unless you do it before signing it I assume :P

Also I got massive magazine with the  the god and heroes beta. I had to wait a year.

Yeah, I'm guess the pre-order folks won't be getting in until after the 18th at the earliest.....

I've had this client downloaded for a couple weeks now and have been jonesing to get in and check it out.  Having failed yet again to get a key via a contest I went ahead and paid my 6.95 to fileplanet to get a beta key, registered the key to my TR account, and of course you know what happens:

I still can't get in.  

It appears that if you get the pre-order key before the beta key, then the block takes precedence......

Of course account support team is closed, presumably for the weekend..so I'm SOL and totally frustrated.

(Really sucks when you pay all the drug dealers, and still can't get your fix because the needle won't go in).

Oddly enough, I was never giving the impression the beta access was immediate. Where I read it, it simply said "given access to the beta". It didn't specify when, which is pretty much a standard indicator that its just saying "hey, you'll be in beta, sooner or later". *shrug* I was planning on pre-ordering anyway, and I probably won't see the boxes for a while, so doesn't concern me much.

Downloaded the small installer this morning but it couldn't find the client.  Now it seems to work. 

 

Lets see if i can get in as well

 

There is a file planet stress test going on until the 18th as well.
