World of the Same Old Poop

I don't think there is anybody on MMORPG.com who hasn't tried out World of Warcraft. I must admit, this game has some very nice content and PvP, which is what hooks some players for some time. But after awhile, don't you notice a pattern forming? Raid/Dungeon, get better gear, PvP and all that all over again. WoW is a great game but for some odd reason I just don't enjoy the raiding and the PvP gets old for me after awhile, also the Pre-mades got me frustrated.. and getting spat on after I would get owned .

To be honest, there really isn't much to do once you hit 70 now.. I recently hit 70 and just realized that it is exactly the same as level 60. I would go out to Tempest Keep, Gruul's Lair, perhaps Kharazan and raid! Raid, raid raid... I would be happy with the better gear that I got and I would go try it out in PvP.. and die and get spat on.. After awhile I just got burnt out on the same old poop, the game is mainly about getting better gear which you gaze upon in the end... I think I am done with WoW.. BUT WAIT!

What is this, Wrath of the Lich King?? New level cap 80 and I can kill Arthas and spit on him? No way! But wait.. This could be another WoW trap to suck me in until I realize at level 80 that all I do is raid raid raid, pvp, get spat on when I die and gaze upon my armor. Personally, I would not go back for this expansion...

For those of you who haven't tried out WoW, it's a great game, very fun and much to do but in the end things change... For the veterans out there who stuck out all those hours in Molten Core and spent their weekend nights in Kharazan, let's just say SCREW it, because when we get all of our leet gear, level 90 would already be around the corner with the same old dilemma.

True, I guess WoW is not just for me but I can not argue with anyone about it because it is the leading MMO as of now. It is a extremely fun and appealing game but I just get tired of it after awhile.. Right now, I'm probably going to wait for Darkfall to come out, if it ever does..

100% correct. WoW is a borefest to say the least. Kudo's to those who like it but I personally do not like leaving work to report in to my second job. WoW to me is boring, raiding the same dungeon for the same loot in hopes that it will drop and I win it is boring, and the pvp is boring. All I will say is I have been beta testing Gods and Heroes for awhile and when the Beta Servers are up, WoW is not touched. When the game releases, i'll finally have a new home and will be able to delete that crapfest from my harddrive once and for all. Oh, and it is only the leading MMO for 2 reasons. #1 it is Warcraft Based, #2 there are no new games out that are different from it. But that is about to change thank god. Just because 9million people play it does not mean it's good.:)

    flawed logic for the win.

So it has 9 million subscribers because it carries the name of the famous franchise?

A simple question: How come Final Fantasy XI, The Matrix Online, Star Wars Galaxies and Lord of the rings online don't have millions of subscribers?

I'll let you think about that one for a while.

You do the same thing over and over again at high end because developers can't create content faster than people can play through, thus an endgame timesink is needed. If you think Gods & heroes is not going to be repetive at endgame, you're in for one hell of a shock.

blizzard made a game that they hoped would be fun for their fans and others, i don't see anything wrong with that, if you don't like it that's okay, but you seem to attack at it like it somehow caused you physical harm...its just a game.   i'm glad you found a game you are going to like.

if it was feeling like a second job to you i don't think it is wow to blame, probably just taking the game to serious.  I come home from work do my normal house duties i usually do then log in for abit, i raid once in awhile, or do other things, maybe pvp,  i've been playing since release, it has never felt like a job to me.

it has its subscriber base from fans yes, but also word of mouth helped alot, i know i talked about it alot hehe,  got a bunch of friends playing and they havn't gotten bored with it, there are alot of factors to its sub numbers not just the name.

maybe some of you who really dislike the game could answer me something tho, why keep playing a game that you dislike? i keep seeing all the complaints but then they say they are still playing waiting for something else, why keep torturing yourself playing a game you truly dislike?

That is why your guild isnt 60% through Black Temple yet. See to truly get to what this game has envisioned for you by blizzard, it is a second job, because unless you make it your second job, you'll never see it. Heh

You make it sound so negative.  It's suppossed to be a game,   I enjoy the leveling.  I don't "Grind", I play.  When I feel like its grinding I stop.   I go back when I feel like playing.

It is only end-game focused if YOU focus on it.  It's only the same if you do the same things.  It ain't perfect or for everyone.  But it is what it is.  Just play something else, no need to troll.  IT is a well-balanced and well designed game with variety.  So hating really does'nt do it justice.

WoW next expansion is exactly what current players need, I mean all those who stayed with TBC will stay to the end, imho small percentage of players will drop, new ones will come.

Personally, closed my acc and order week before TBC, I didn't liked PvP changes in general. WoW is still in my heart, ;) doubt I will ever start it over again.

WoW will stay WoW till the end.

WoW PvP is not as great as it could be.  It really was seen as a secondary thing.  Although I don't think it's as bad as "tacked on" or sux.  It is fun for what it is but it is limited.  I think in a perfect world they would have made the zones more PvP centric or frirendly.  But PvP is definitly not the focus in the world or instances or raids.

Now BGs are fun but limited and Arenas is a great idea-- but again these are all you really have.  World PvP is not very developed, but it does exist.   For that WAR will hopefully fill the void.

I still do have some fun in World PvP: but only as luck and its spotty,  I don't sign on for it, but when You get a good brawl going in a zone it's the bes thing becuase it's so spontaneous and doens't feel "canned" like the BG or Arenas.

    Great! Brilliant! I agree completely!

If you think WoW levelling 1-69 is "boring" then you are in the wrong genre, my friend, because of all the mmos I've tried, WoW levelling is one of the most fun around. Enda game? End game is what you make of it. I used to have fun un Ultima Online where end games DOES NOT EXIST!! Right. no raids, no conquerable objectives (at start at least), you could hack each other to pieces... but for no reason at all. And I STILL had fun just playing the game and hanging out with my friends.

Here... well you have all those options PLUS you got raids and top level instances, you got top level quests chains and solo missions, you got PvP, both world and battlegrounds (Outlands is full of world pvp objectives and Northrend will be even more so with a full region dedicated to PvP).

Now you also got Arena.... Seems to me having many more options than "0" is not a bad thing.

If Noooone of those appeal to you, well, you are out of luck then.

dude if you're tired of the game then just go away nobody cares because you got "owned and spat on" in pvp thats on you maybe instead of getting mad you should try to get better. so you feel all those nights in mc getting your purples was wasted as soon as tbc came out? by that logic you're saying they shouldn't have added anymore content after mc...haha.

i recently read a study on mmo's and they said the average mmo subscription last 11 months so if you played longer than 11 months the game did its job and if you didn't then the game just wasn't for you simple as that.

Its all about comunity...People get owned in BGs from premades...why dont you make or enter premade? Same question is about gear allso...Arena gear is preatty easy to get, just need 10 fights a week...but you need to have friend to play with...or you dont have friends in wow :p

hm, if the same ol' thing that keeps repeating itself with nothing new happening, waiting a year for this expansion to bring what you already have is what you consider fun, then.... I don't know what to think, sounds more like an addiction, I hate it how all the MMOs are just copying off eachother and dumbing them down! theres a lot more potential in MMORPGS than any one of those out right now! theres potential for MMOs to have random instances, ever changing, ever evolving world, a skill-based system! In fact I'm just gonna go to the developers corner to work on that, what point is there to argue with anyone here?

Actually there is something new happening overtime. BC added the arena system, WotLK will add outside world pvp objectives with destructable buildings, siege weapons, new class and new inscriptions. The expansion will also add more of the same content. its an EXPANSION, not a new game.

Theres potential for random instances? in order to create random instances, you're going to need computer generated content. Go play dark and Light for a day and you'll understand what that means. Ever evolving world is a lot harder to implant, and its not something that should be in any mmorpg. Skill - based system is primitive, and was quickly dropped as MMO's became more popular. And you know, there is probably a good reason for that.

actually... i do not see much difference between killing 50 rats and gaining a level and killing 50 rats and getting 5 points of sword skill, do you?

differences between class and skill system are in the versatility of the second versus the easy of balance of the first, not in how hard or easy they are for the player, that is established regardless of the system, ie you could have a level system where you level up every rat you kill and a skill system where to get a point of sword skill you need to down couple hundred galactic gods
