Has Everquest 2 put on it's boxing gloves?

I will be honest.. Everquest 2 was a work of shit when it came out.. The graphics made were extremely colorful and detailed but it didn't help my computer as far as performance goes and my computer is actually pretty up to date. The downfall of this game was the early-release to beat WoW before it came out and it didn't work out. The gameplay and the mechanisms of this game were all tweaked and just didn't click with me. I thought that the biggest turn off to most players, was the huge difference between EQ1 and EQ2, they are both totally different games.. But yet Everquest 2 hung tight on its last thread..

Over the years, Everquest 2 has improved dramatically. I recently came back for the Play the Fae trial and I said to myself,"Wait, did I DL the wrong game or am I really playing EQ2?" I was just so amazed by how much it had improved since launch, the classes are balanced out, the tradeskill system has been improved, the game is more fast paced and the game runs a lot smoother!! I was really impressed and I played EQ2 for some time until I got hooked onto another game I had been playing. Everquest 2 has made a tremendous comeback and that is all there is to be said.

To all those people who have never tried out EQ2, try it out I promise you will not regret it, to all those people who quit at launch, I'm not a crazy person, go try it out now! EQ2 has truly changed for the better, good job Sony.

I was curious to get the game when it came out, but I heard it was such a graphics hog.  I only had a Radeon 9600 SE at the time, so stayed away from it.  I guess I'm glad I did since I heard it was hard and you had to group to get anything done.

I'm playing it now though and am definitely enjoying it.  It's like a breath of fresh air.

Yeah I have played EQ2 since it launched and I liked it back then already... but now I'm loving it... and point to "can't get anything done alone" is that the game is MMO not MMOS(massive multiplayer online solo) :P

And good things just keep on coming as the new expansion is coming in november and after that in some live update they will bring Guild Halls which will be like bigger than DFC and there can be hired menders, vendors, brokers and rooms for guild members :)

everquest 2 cant even find its boxing gloves.

Amazing an MMO was crap when it came out and got better after a few years ............... hmmm why is that ............ oh yes the people who stayed and gave feedback for the past few years.  Of course bad and good is all opinion so maybe it was great and became worse ........... depends on who ya ask i guess.

I just upgraded my account a couple days ago from trial to full subscription. I was looking for an alternative to City of Heroes (been playing for three years)... which of course doesn't exist. But still, after having played WoW for a while and realizing that LOTRO is an "elegant man's" WoW and trying a bunch of crap MMOs, I was surprised that I would have even thought of trying Everquest 2, but it was kinda the last option for now. Color me even more surprised when I actually liked it. Enough as to cut my trial time short by about three days and upgrading. After asking myself the obvious ("Are you mad?", "How low have you fallen?") and other fun-time absurdities, I am enjoying the game, and plan on playing for a while, hoping that the spirit will last enough as to bring back my interest in CoH or at least till Warhammer Online comes out.

    But, so far, so good!

i totally agree, i currently play this and EQ1, and both games are great. If you havent tried Eq2, go ahead and download the free trial, you wont regret it at all.

I've recently come back to EQ2 as well and I'm having a blast so far.  I can't wait to get out and see more of the world (only got as far as thundering steppes before) because I know there is a nearly endless amount of content out there.  If you have a powerful PC, this game is far and away the best looking MMO on the market now as well... extremely realistic.

The game is great and totally diserve the 1st spot in here.  I'm actually surprised it still is.  But i did noticed some hate towards EQ2 recently...  It's a great game and it's the best out there atm that is for sure.
