republicans are scared that democrats and their liberal tendencies will change things for the worse.
but it doesn't take a scientist to see that the same old policies/government isn't good enough and republicans are less progressive than a pack of thickheaded buffalos.
with a little help from some real brainy people we can change everything for the better. Thinking that 'extreme' changes will hurt our country is stupid. There are enough brainy people out there that the odds of democrats doing something really wrong is relatively nil. It bothers me that republicans do not see the logic in many democratic policies or even the logic behind socialism. And there is no way our country would become socialist but a little bit of peace and equality isn't going to hurt anything.
Logic oughta prevail in every government decision. Economists and caring people would choose Hillary.
Uhm... someone explain any real difference between the two major parties or candidates? Aside from the pork going to different places. Looks like for the 4th election in a row, I simply will opt out and not bother to vote at all. I tried that voting for the "lesser of two evils" for years, and I have had enough of both parties.
Ok, difference:
Republican is spelled R-e-p-u-b-l-i-c-a-n.
Democrat is spelled D-e-m-o-c-r-a-t.
But seriously, you have a good point. I'd advise you to vote anyway - find some third parties, find people who represent what you believe in, and if not, run for office yourself. Seriously. Don't give away your vote, your voice in deciding how your government runs because it's almost impossible not to care about what your government does while you live in any country. Eh, you've probably heard that before.
Edit: I know I didn't answer your original question about the real difference between the two major parties. I don't want to provoke a flame war. What I can answer is that right now, we don't have two "major candidates". Each party has what is called a primary election, where several (about 6 to 9) people run for their party's "nomination". We won't know who each party's candidate is until about next April-ish. The summer before a Presidential election, each party holds a national convention, where it formally nominates a certain candidate to run for president.
I am 37 years old and have always voted republican...except for the ross perot thing....but I have never liked democrat policys...however I am looking at all the canditates and hillary seems like the only really leader out there...I might not like all her policys but she is a leader in my mind....kinda like margaret thatcher....I think that america really needs a leader right now and not just a toy president....that's it I'm done.
You need to be out of your mind to vote for Hillary, not a democrat

You cannot be a Republican and vote for Clinton. Yes, I hate her policies but I like her leadership? Does that make sense? I think not. How about just voting for her because he (th OP) thinks she's the most qualified and to heck with party affiliation? I could NEVER understand these silly games that party politics play and that partisans play. Why not just vote for someone because *gasp* they're going to actually do good for the country, rather than simply that they're republican/democrat? It's these stupid games that have turned our country into a joke.
Clintion would ruin our country. If Bush is so bad why was he re-elected a second time. Idk who i would vote for as i dont like any of the leading canidates. And the republicans close minded? BULL$HIT both parties only do what their parties want i laugh every time someone says this.
Hold on Snow Leopard, imma let you finish, but Windows had one of the best operating systems of all time.

Looking back in history the two party system failed use a long time ago. Who are these people kidding, the Democrats and Republicans could easily split off into a few diffrent parties each. But elections are so biast aginst a 3rd party its hard to even get on the ballot and gething elected is even harder.
I don't think you should look at so party so much but look the candidates voting record. Is it constient, do they flip flop alot on the issues or get it right the first time? Do they have princibles, do they vote constintley though their time as a politician? If they were a government/mayer look at how well they handled the state/city.

You're not a Republican. You're a RINO: Republican in Name Only.
While I myself am not a Republican, I do know their general beliefs and political philosophy. Hillary Clinton supports none of it. If you really do believe yourself to be a Republican, I'd have to say all you're doing is deceiving yourself; you're in denial.
I wouldn't vote for Hillary Clinton (or her husband) if she was the only person running. Over-sized government FTL.
As for leadership. "True believers" (and Mrs. Clinton is one) always seem "strong" because they are so sure of themselves. To me, they're not strong, but pig-headed and often scary.

It's interesting that you used the phrase "over-sized government"....isn't that what 99% of the presidential candidates represent? We need change.

Screw people that can't take care of themsevles. I do not care. If they do not have Family willing to help them out, friends willing to help them out, or the local community willing to help them out, then they deserve where they are. Because they have obviously F'ed up royally and driven away anyone that would be willing to help them out. Why should they get a hand out from the government?
Wow
Wow...yeah. It's staggering just how screwed up some peoples priorities are in this country. It's ok for the Government to spend billions of dollars on a useless war or a bloated military, but God forbid should you spend that money on actual American citizens who need it! Why...why that's just a jump and a skip away from COMMUNISM!! Oh NOOOO!!!
Between the Bush family and the Clintons their is 32 years of two family's leading this country. Their really needs to be a change.... But as a Treehugginconservative I can only hope that Clinton and hubby are the nomineen For prez
Did you mean 23? I think Nixon or Ford was pres in 75.
Hillary Clinton- a leader? I dont know whether to die laughing or puke my guts out at that suggestion.
If she is elected president she's gonna be too busy paying off all the people who basically own her. That's all the people who have ever financed ANY Clinton campaign, Bill or Hillary- anyone who's done a Clinton a significant favor... It's a REAL long list of people, corporate entities, and special interest groups.
Hillary is not the president we need right now...
I got my hopes pinned on Barack Obama and/or Ron Paul coming through in the primaries someway, somehow- but basically neither one of em' stands a snowballs chance in hell of getting that nomination. I also believe both of them would never run as independents if they failed to secure the nomination.
If I have to pick between Hillary Clinton and Mitt Romney or Rudy Giulanni- It's going to be the first time I leave that portion of the ballot blank.
Utter utter crap. There is going to be no difference between some douchey Republican and some slimey Democrat in the upcoming election. At least when it was Bush vs. Anyone Else I knew well enough to vote for Anyone Else.
Hope you got your things together. Hope you are quite prepared to die. Looks like we're in for nasty weather. ... There's a bad moon on the rise.
As a guy from the UK i've always thought the republicans were frigging useless and seem to be more of a dictatorship than anything. You have to agree with all their views or they will not accept you kinda thing which is stupid. Also republicans seem more religious and you can't have religion and law mix cause that straight away chucks alot of cultures and people away who don't have the same views. If people like George Bush are Republican why would you vote that anyways? He's a useless stupid leader lol.... I hear alot of Americans go on about socalist ways and sorry but i see nothing bad about what Hillary wants and it aint a communism.
I was watching that film called "sicko" about how bad the American health care is and how Americans are scared to conve3rt to what countries like France and Canada and the UK has. Why be scared of what we have? We have all our health care for free and it's still upto a very high standard and doesn't mean you'll have to die if you can't afford a operation like in America because you can't afford it.
Tbh anyone who supports a free healthcare system like most of the world wins really.
Trouble is too many Americans are stupid and mind warped.
Wow publish, your blatant hate for Americans and everything American is more obvious than anything. I agree with the move Sicko but you make me ashamed to. Now why don't you go take your rotting teeth and stupid accent and go away. Oops! Did I say something mean and uncalled for?
I cannot vote Democrat. It's not just that I disagree with their populist/socialist bent, but the fact that they always engage in class warfare (i.e., good "poor" Americans vs evil "corporate" Americans).
As a nation, we should be past all the silly class warfare fights that almost destroyed Europe in the first half of the 20th century.

I completely agree with you. It's just that Mrs. Clinton makes no bones about wanting to expand government. At least Republicans sometimes *pretend* not to want to increase the size of government. Paleo-conservatism does tend towards wanting a smaller government, too. Neo-conservatism, as far as I can tell, does not, hence Bush's massive expansion of governmental scope and executive power.
Really, none of the main choices are any good. I'll be voting for Ron Paul, futile as it may be. He comes closest to my principles and seems like a relatively good man.
