Looking at goin back to the game

Looking at going back to the game is the population still high,  over 100,000 maybe?  and I guess im wondering if there is alot of people online are they just afk players dancing to people serious about the game.   And are there still guilds being activly used.

Thanks in Advance

My best answer on this would be to download the trial version of SWG and have a look for yourself.

As posted in prior threads, your most popular servers would be Bloodfin, Bria and Chimera (EU) that usually show a Very Heavy to Heavy on the login screen.

I play on the Chilastra server and our population has grown just within the 4 months that I have been back. I think Chapter 6 that was introduced to the game was a turning point for people to try SWG once again and since then I do see alot of vets and new players in the game.

How long ago was it since you last played?

Well I was right in there from day one with the collectors editon till about 2 years in right about the time they changed the icons on the screen, remember they all used to be a blue color then they changed them to animated icons, right about that time i guess, I loved the game but had to move up north for work purposes, way up north where high speed was not available. Was on Ahazi server.

    Thanks

Starsider has several active guilds that are Imperial and Rebel factioned.

More and more people are returning since the change of staff and the booting of Julio.

Lots of great things have been happening since the new guys took over and the next chapter looks cool.

I mean we even see people getting on forums telling others they logged in into a low pop server and they still complain about the lack of people DOH.
over 100,000 maybe? Don't know some say yes some say no way, for me if it has 20k, 50k, 100k doesn't really matter, al what matters for me is having fun if i'm not having fun i would honostly not know why the amount of people playing the game would improve my fun, let me be clear there is absolute no need to have trouble finding groups, unless one is scared to socialize with others (meaning simply talk with others is what i mean with socializing).
and I guess im wondering if there is alot of people online are they just afk players dancing to people serious about the game.  This is hard to asnwer actualy, lets say a person is a 24/7 player, then i can safely say don't play the game if you need to find people, does a person have a rl/ob ect ect. then like every other mmorpg you wil meet plenty of people at the peakhours, but again don't be fooled by thinking this wil ocure at low or very low pop server cause that wil not be happening.
And are there still guilds being activly used. On Farstar more then enough active and also recruiting guilds, can't speak about the other servers as i never watch on those servers for guilds as Farstar is my ingame home.

    Thanks in Advance

Before you spend you money try logging in.

I've just recieved my 3rd 21-day trial reactivation this year a few days ago.

    I'd bet you did too.

You probably have some nice vet rewards waiting for you as well :). Some of them go for quite a bit of money now, so you have some pocket change to spend on new gear and such !

If you go into anything with a negative frame of mind most likely that will prevent you from seeing anything good.

Don't expect pre-JTLS crowds, instant travel and a huge space game means less visible people on the ground.

Join a guild or hang around in Mos E and you will see a fair amount of activity.

Now playing: VG (after a long break from MMORPGS)
Played for more than a month: Darkfall online, Vanguard SOH, Everquest, Horizons, WoW, SWG, Everquest II, Eve

If you played Pre-CU then you will consider the populations to be VERY small.  No way there are 100,000 people playing this game.  Maybe 100,000 station pass owners, but not 100,000 SWG subscribers.

So True Rainstar, this is so very true when it comes to RL situations as well. Hence.. Is the glass half full or half empty.

That was excactly what i kept thinking all the times i tried to get back to the game over the years until 5 months ago when i started with a new account on a medium pop server and in no way could you see the population as small, but afcourse smaller then pre-cu but its very healthy and there for fun again.

You have to keep in mind also there are two more planets and space when you consider the population as well ;)
