no he didnt, he made a succesfull book, he didnt invent anything.

actually he did, and you have to be blind not to see it. He basically invented the setting that almost every other fantasy world builds upon. He not only wrote a book, he invented an entire world and its history and its languages to substantiate that world. Basically he invented an entire mythology, which was his goal in fact: the build a mythology for England (english) similar to norse mythologies he studied.

    Elladan - ESO (AD)
    Camring - SWTOR (Ebon Hawk)
Eol & Justinian - Rift (Faeblight)
Ceol and Duri - LotRO (Landroval)
    Kili - WoW
    Eol - Lineage 2
    Camring - SWG
    Justinian (Nimue), Camring - DAoC

I paid 5$ for a 6 day or whatever trial and I uninstalled it after 45 minutes. No offense to the people who play it, I just didn't like anything about it.

I'm sorry but I disagree.  He did invent his world and his lore for the world, and the language.  Kudo's to him.  But he did not invent any of those races, they existed in stories with the traits he used before his book, therefore he could not have invented it.  He did not invent the fantasy genre either, why because those fantasy characters with those traits existed in stories before his book.  Therefore again he did not invent them, he just used them.

Again look at the fables you grew up with, those fables have many of his characters exactly as he portrayed them in his book and existed long before he wrote it.

Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it is bad.

I think LOTRO has a boredom factor because it lacks urgency.  It doesn't seem to have much of the peer pressure "Look I've got Tier X Armor goodness!" of WoW, or the need to harvest resources or improve in order to do raids.  It also doesn't really have much factional competition either despite monster play.  It also lacks much of the exploration factor, which could have helped fill in the time to give people something to do.

Even worse, there is a LOT of grinding of certain monsters for traits, which becomes tedious especially if it is something like worms or wolves.

When I log into play these days, I realize that I have a log full of group quests that I cannot solo and that I don't feel like spamming for a group so that we can rush through it as fast as possible and not being able to enjoy it.  So since I'm not strong enough to do any of the quests available to me I end up grinding for xp/traits, and I get sleepy after about an hour and then don't log in for at least another week.
