Please put the UK with America or their own UK servers depending on population. The worst thing i find with localization if i can't find good english speaking servers as i'm stuck with the bloody EU which btw we don't even want to be in over here. So when i'm trying to find a server like on WOW it's always like "nope this server has alot of italians" or "no this server is full of swedish" hmm. So this effects me cause i'm less likely to get a english speaking group and in general chat it's all bloody swedish or w/e. You never wanna find a Swedish server too because they wil over ever play with people from Sweden.
So please put the UK who want to speak english on their own server (altho it'll be underpopulated) or with the USA.
Thanx.

First of all, you seriously need to learn to use "I" instead of "We".
second, UK is part of Europe, hence its on the european servers, its that simple. I play on the European servers in most MMO's, and the vast majority of people speak english.
your post implies that being put with USA you will have a better "English" experience? well thats certainly a debatable opinion ;-)
Erm, lol is all I can say. The whole timezone thing could prove a problem. Plus, whose stopping the swedish or whoever from joining the UK-America server regardless?
I personally know plenty of UK people who wouldn't want to miss playing with people from all kinds of different nationalities for the world. (Pun unintended.)
I live in Asia and I play on US servers.
I bought a US version of WoW.
Was hassle free and I get to choose between oceanic or US servers.
To OP: Speak for yourself mate, but don't claim you speak for me. You don't. I'm in the UK, want to be part of the EU, and enjoy playing on servers where I get to meet people from all over Europe.
I'm not in favor of localization and would just prefer that everyone be clumped together. I get to meet a wider range of people that way
Well, I dunno.
I have a small guild, 16 players of which 3-4 from the UK. the rest is from nordic countries and one from netherlands.
We all talk fluent english in any chat. Moreover, I've seen non english in chat, in the 6 months i have restarted, maybe 2 or 3 times and they are always yelled at.
So... i guess it depends on the server, there are SO many of them, what does it matter to you if couple are taken over by some other european communities? (oh, btw, swedish people tends to speak a better english than most).
"If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day, if you teach him how to fish, you feed him for a lifetime"
I like all Europeans. Im german and I prefer playing in my mother tongue, but I don't have problems with other european languages at all, they belong to this part of the world
They already have the servers split up between English/German/French/Spanish ....are Italian and Swedish a big issue? don't most of them speak English anyway?
Most of you do not even know what it is like to be forced to play with people who do not speak the same language. A lot of you will protest, "I do too, I've done it before." *rolls eyes*
A lot of the mmorpg.com community is american. Americans, for the most post, play on american servers. You aren't forced onto a EU server where the majority speak a different language. Those few americans who CHOOSE to play on a different server get the choice to, and thus because they CHOSE to switch servers, they enjoy playing with people who don't understand a single word they are saying.
I honestly have no idea how you enjoy playing an MMO with someone who doesn't understand anything you say, and who you cannot understand what they say. Somehow this makes me think that the lack of understanding each other's communication will not lead to you feeling as a part of the non-english speaking community.
Regardless, most of you don't know what it's like to be a Brit, be forced to play on EU servers, and to constantly find others who do not speak english. It is amazing how quickly the ignorant are to judge and condemn others.
Until you walk a mile in someone else's shoes, don't judge and condemn you. If you do, you're just another self-righteous mmorpg.com forum member without understanding, spewing foolish comments out of your keyboard.
And even if you've been in their shoes and know what it's like, you're still a fool for condemning someone and hating on their opinion solely because your opinion is different. No wonder this world is so intolerant of each other, it's full of mmorpg.com forum members.
Touchy topic.
I agree with one thing though, global or region chats infested with germans or french tend to tick me of.
I just find it incredibly rude, to me it is common courtesy to communicate so everyone understands me.
To be honest I find it equally rude when some people have personal disputes or conversations over global or region channels, even if it is in english.
Point is that someone who talks a language that most do not understand are doing just that, showing little to no regard for others.
That is not to say I do not like the germans, or the french, because I do.
Its just that I do not know all that many due to the simple fact that they communicate in orcish.
Nowadays most regional launches in EU puts up at least a french and german server and sometimes spanish.
Good for the rest of us I suppose but I am not sure it is good for them to distanse themself even more from the rest of the world.
Much of the joy from MMO's comes from the fact that I meet people from all over the world.
I would never ever play on a "swedish" server for example.
To each their own of course, I just do not see the point.

I'm in the UK and I couldn't possibly imagine playing WoW without my Swedish mates. They're completely nuts, driven by metal music and copious amounts of beer - no instance run is ever boring if there's a Swede along
However, there is one issue that the OP didn't raise, but its entirely relevant. We all get voice chat in a couple of days, there's going to be a lot of funny accents going around to those not used to voice comms. I'm used to it though, with Ventrillo. Might be a bit of a culture shock for some though.
Still waiting for your Holy Grail MMORPG? Interesting...
