This has been happening a lot lately whenever I browse this site. I get a pop up saying, "A script in this movie is causing Adobe Flash Player 9 to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive. Do you want to abort the script?" Even after I abort it will pop up again in a few minutes. After aborting my computer runs really slow. I'm wondering if anybody else has been having this problem. If so someone really needs to take a look at this and fix it.

Iv been seeing it every day, but after i click yes to stop the flash it doesn't pop up again.
Yes me as well. Running Firefox at work with 1gb of ram. Sometimes it doesn't do it some time it does.. but Firefox ends up using 100% CPU and I get an error stating there was a flash error. Often times I cant even close firefox because it hangs, or change tabs or anything. The flash animations move with each increment of my cursor and stop moving when my cursor stops. Seems to be related to the archlord or the metin 2 flash I've seen, but not sure.

Played (In order of favorite first to least): DAOC, EQ2, EVE, WOW, Vanguard, AC2, City of __, Guild Wars, LOTRO, EQ, Sword of New World, FFXI, Lineage 2, Second Life, DDO, Anarchy Online, RF Online, Archlord, Uru, Ragnarok Online, Shadowbane, Planetside, Auto Assault, Ryzom, Matrix Online, Horizons, Entropia, Sims, Runescape, Lineage 1, AC1, Dungeon Runners
I get the problem when I use msn...but mine slows down first... then it varies from 1 mins to a few mins, before the window would pop-up for me to press "yes". However, when I press "yes" it goes back to normal speed.
So lately I'm only using the regular internet explorer on here, and it happens alot less often...
FireFox and same problem
Same problem, causing Firefox to hang. Does anyone know of a good Flash-blocker extension? Preferably one I can configure to ignore Flash only for certain sites?
IE and same problem. Seems like sometimes having this site open in a tab is using a lot of power for some reason.
Same problem here. Using IE.
It appears to be related to one of the Flash advertisements. Not sure which one, but will find out once it happens again.
[ Played ] 2Moons, Anarchy Online, City of Heroes, City of Villains, Dark Age of Camelot, Everquest, Everquest II, Guild Wars, HellGate: London, Lord of the Rings Online, Rappelz, RF Online, Shadowbane, Star Wars Galaxies, Sword of the New World, Tabula Rasa, Vanguard: Saga of Heroes, World of Warcraft, Last Chaos
[ Playing ] Everquest II
[ Waiting ] Aion, Age of Conan
It's the Metin 2 ad that causes that problem for me. I haven't had any other ad on site cause that problem except Metin 2.
In War - Victory.
In Peace - Vigilance.
In Death - Sacrifice.
For me I believe it was the Silkroad ad, the one with the teal background and the funky lookin chick.
Well to jump on the bandwagon, me to IE7 here
Thread moved to bug reports.
Thanks for the tip about Flashblock Jello. I run BOINC projects when I'm just web browsing, and it was annoying me greatly to have my cpu power being sucked up by some badly coded add instead of trying to find a cure for cancer (literally).
BTW - The flash script error kept popping up more or less continuously for me, and I would get the error message every five minutes or so here despite canceling the script.
Edit: using Firefox
It is also the bounty bay one.
It's a primative flash movie and I just messed with the creative. They use too many wrong frames at the wrong time.
I suggest to the admin of this site to contact the advertising house and tell them they need to drop the fireworks effects.
This can be bad on a persons computer if they own an old one. It can actually BSOD win2k under the right circumstances.
EDIT: Left my pc for a whopping 3 minutes with mmorpg.com in the background and my hard drive started grinding thanks to that buffer filler in these bad ads, say what you want you guys need to change this. My hd is a very nice quiet unit and i have never heard it grind.
Those cheaply made creative can do damage and it's your guys responsibility to see that it's fixxed. I believe this site can be classified as hostile at the moment. If a nice new hd can grind due to this then a old one can be killed.
And no i had no active processes in the background, this was pure out grinding thanks to adobe 9 buffers.
same here. using IE 7
almost every day I get that error then my CPU gets pegged at 100% . I cant even kill IE 7 throught ctr+alt_del due to the resources being drained. I end up hitting the reset button
just today, I made the mistake of leaving my browser open all day with MMORPG.com loaded. I recieved no eror when I returned to my computer 8 hours later, but my resources were absorbed. funny.. as I type this I notice my computer running slower and slower
actually.. it is running slower and im hardly able to type this message. after what.. 5 minutes tops of it being loaded? for what its worth, the archlord banner ad script is at top of the page
oh well, time to leave mmorpg.com for a while
"If you want a picture of the future, imagine a robot foot stomping on a human face -- forever."
they really need to fix this... bump
Same here. Firefox.
It is (today?) the Archlord-adv in the forums.
Yep bottom of the screen Archlord Advert, should be fixed soon.
Same, Firefox
Seems the bug still exists.
Not sure whether it's Archlord however, seems to be the LotR flash movie, at least that movie was in the add box when Firefox hung on me today.
I maintain this List of Sandbox MMORPGs. Please post or send PM for corrections and suggestions.
