New Experience Installing!!
I played Rappelz long before the v4 release. So I thought I'd go back & start up again.
What a mistake!!!
First, downloading the client takes forever.
Then, once I finally got it and started to install, I got the "Corrupted file" message. Oh Joy!
Re-Download.
Install again. It works!!! BUT...... my anti-virus scanners pop up warnings of Trojans. Um, ok. I check the Rappelz forums & find that this is supposedly a "False Positive". Not unheard of. And the recommended course of action was to disable AV Software & Firewalls.
Not my most favorite thing to do, but ok. I do so. It installs just fine.
I'm asked to restart my system. Ok. I restart.
Windows XP gets to the Desktop and I'm presented with a message:
"COM ERROR" or some such. WTF??? 
It KILLED everything on my back panel!! No mouse, no Keyboard, No USB.
I tried using "uninstall", roll-back, and all the usual stuff. Catch is- without a mouse. I backed up stuff cuz you know whats coming next.
Nothing worked. Rappelz totally disabled the entire back-panel of my motherboard!!! 
In the end I had to re-install Windows XP Pro & all my stuff.
Dont know if anyone has had a similar experience, but I thought I'd share mine.

Maybe it was not a "false positive". Somebody tricked you there.
Yes. This has occurred to me. But that would also mean any downloads of the client from their site is suspect.
I think I shall pass yet again on Rappelz till I find out otherwise

Just to add: I went to their "Tech Support Forum". Nice. Nothing like having a Flash Video Script try to bog down or take down a computer.

Bro I've been playing Rappelz for a long time and its still rated by most sites The Best Free MMO out there...but when they came out with E4 they fcked it all up big time.....all skills cost 2x to 3x (for some classes) to use skills and u have less mana but in the end its still better then any other that i have played even better then pay for games....and for ur Error prob u need make sure that u have NO Rappelz info on ur comp then DL striaght from there site use no other site but the 1s they link for the DLs...I haven't had any probs so far well besides for some minor DCs but that happens in alot of games...just go back and try to DL once ur comp is clear...ohh and the fwl. and AV thing ppl talk about, NEVER DISABLE THEM!! it should have no problem running with ur current "AV and "fwl." if it persists then contact them or post a comment about it in the bugs section....they have worked out most of the major bugs but now they have new 1s i'm sure LOL......
Ohh and i'm a guy this is my GFs account here...in Rappelz on Sally my nick is SonOfAries & on the new server TANDA its GoddessOfWar....had to make a female cant be a sexist LOL....plus more fun looking at a chick then a guy for 6 to 8+ hrs.
Strange thing is, I didnt download it from some strange site. It was from the Rappelz site itself. Or I should say the Links on their site to download the client.
I haven't had these problems... but I know for a fact the only parts I had to allow through my AV & Firewall were "Client" (loader) and "SFrame" (main window) and also hacksheild that they say is to stop botters and other unpleasants... never had any other problems... nor have anybody I know... you may have gotten a bad copy....
Like you i downloaded it from their links not just once but twice each time from different sites both times all I got was a freeze up on install hearing your story I'm glad I didn't pursue the game further. People should probably really set-up a warning about how bad the Rapples download / client is and its ability to mess up ones system.
Rapplez = just not worth the risk
