O noes, the xp table makes it so you can't get to the end game within a week!!!1 ...So? Gemstone isn't about the endgame. Although there are things to do at the endgame (you can still gain experience to get more skill), it's not like other MMOs where it's all about said endgame. The XP chart is therefore irrelevant to the game's fun. It's also wrong. That chart assumes that you gain 1k xp an hour. No, you gain 1.5k on average. Furthermore, in GS they have something called the "Gift of Lumnis", which allows you to gain experience three times faster for three hours, then two times faster for three hours, once every week. As for $45.00 a month...Yeah, premium service always did irk me, honestly. As did character slots. They better not do that in HJ.
Endgame has nothing to do with it. An MMORPG should not have an endgame. All an XP chart shows is that it will be grind based. How can you eliminate tedium if the mechanics are based on it? Do you honestly believe that a company can provide everyone over 1000 (grind or XP hours) of minimal tedium gameplay?
It also shows a willingness to use a system that baits the player along with XP development rather then actual gameplay. How long will it actually take? We don't know BUT it does show that its level based and XP based therefore grind based.
"Gift of Lumnis" sounds a lot like what shop based games have. If you pay a bit more, you get extra benefits.... you know we already sorta went through this when Archlord tried to pass off tiered pay plans as a good idea. Tiered price gives clear benefit to players willing to pay more. It graduates the higher paying customers to LESS tedium by rewarding them with XP bonuses. So if the game has "less tedium" and less grind, why would it need a benefit like that anyway?
Is the actual motto "less tedium, more fun for premium subscription players"?
Its vapor anyway. Believe what you like. These guys gave up this project and have been pushing the engine for 2 years now.

You're assuming that the Gift of Lumnis is a premium perk. I don't play GS, but if you do a quick search, it's quite obvious that it is available to all players.

Well gee, maybe if your company did a better job at communicating over the last 3 or 4 years no one would be "assuming" anything. Bah, it doesn't matter anyway, the game isn't launching anytime soon and there hasn't been any real information released on it in to long. Its been pushed back since 2005 (the original launch year) so in Dec, that puts it 3 behind track. May as well be 2010 because any momentum this game had died out a long time ago and it will just be one more of dozens of fantasy grinders that promises the moon and delivers sand. All you can offer is an "oh yeah, wait and see, its gonna be magical" and your company can't even be bothered to release any offical info, just a bunch of people with a "HJ" tacked onto their name to keep the game name afloat / alive another year on game forums while they market the engine to other companies using the little ingame footage they have as a sales demo.

LoL. Don't get pissed at Div just because you were wrong. Next time check your facts before you post.
