Dammit... hire me SOE and give me creative freedom and a shiitload of money for development and I shall turn this ship around..
Many a developer has said the same, only to have his/her inspiration crushed by the corporate management and put to work to do what the superiors think are best.
Take that desire, energy and make your own vision or support those that are doing the same.
