Everyone else is right about how there are to many good RTS games out. However unlike other Genres, RTS games come with a lot of uniqueness and innovative ideas and each one.

My favorite games of the Genre are

Supreme Commander- Mass Macromanagment well the fights more or less will work themselves out, you can Micro a tiny bit and make some advantage but not as much as in games like Starcraft ect.

Hearts of Iron 2: DoomsDay- Awesome game where you can play as one of the worlds major powers through WW2 and the early cold war. All takes place on a world map so if your the kind of person who likes making everything your colour this is a great game. I highly recommend looking into this one.

Rise of Nations- A great RTS because of how it introduces aspects from the game Civilizations into it, probably my most liked RTS, you play as one of many nations, each with unique abilities and several special units, from the ancient ages to the Information. The biggest aspect is how you build cities which expand your national borders which you can't build outside of, and must build resource buildings close to your cities. Another great feature is how when you attack one of your enemies cities, you can take it over and gain all the non military buildings in the city.

Special Mentions: Europa III, Dawn of War Series, and of course for a TBS, Civilizations.

Why do you hate ultralisks?  I haven't played the game in a long time but I remember ultralisks being essentially useless due to their ridiculously high cost, low mobility, and relatively low damage.....

Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced.

A zerg player that masses hydralisks and defilers is going to win every time if they know how to properly micro manage their army...Dark Swarm renders your army essentially invincible to anything in the air, and what ground force can stand up to 130 hydras anyway?  Even if a Terrain is bunkered up with sieges he's going to lose to any zerg player with a guardian or two.

  • I always enjoyed attacking with a wave of zerglings backed by a less disposable army of hydralisks. Especially after that adrenal gland upgrade, those little monsters were killing machines. Maybe not the powergaming way to do things but it had pinache. And lots of death on both sides.
