ok they've told us that we can own arenas, houses and stuff like that but i'm wondering if you can like own an inn and put a bar in it and hire np or even pc bar tenders. I wish they would give more info on this.

Players can only own Guild Houses and Player Houses. No arena's, bar's or inn's...

you can to own arenas. You can also own theaters and you can hold weddings, poetry readings and stuff like that in them. Didn't you read the first interviews that people did with the devs?

You can probably host arena battles, but you can't own a whole arena.

     I'd like to see proof.

click on the casters realm movie

Why don't you watch the movie. It does NOT state that the player will own the actual theater rather they can hold events and charge for them. He does not even say anything about the venue. Most likly it will be a public area but players can "rent" it for a show.

Earlier on in developement they said you would be able to purchase sailing ships but I havent heard any more word on that to know if its still going to be included.

I dont really care about anything but player housing and the fact that you get a VAULT in your house.  I think that is awesome!

They are still including ships players can own. Although they will not promise them at release. Perhaps an expansion i'm guessing.

well I can't find the actaul interview that says it. Thats probably because it happened almost a year ago. I want to know why some people are on these boards are saying they hope they get into beta when they just became a fan of eq2. I'v been a fan sence the original eq2 site was launched, and it was like in the 2nd interview that the devs did that said you can own an arena. I'm positive because they discussed how you would charge your costemers. They said that the more popular the arena is it will automaticly charge the constemer more. I'm not sure they still are going to have it at release because they haven't talked about it in awile but I know they were originaly going to. If you want proof my segestion to you is to go look at the first interviews that were done with the devs. It seems to me if you did you would find out that there are alot more features in eq2 that you haven't even heard of.

I'm not saying its a bad thing thay you guys don't know about alot of the features. But please don't act like I'm making stuff up when I say you can own more things then just houses.

I know of all the features in Everquest 2. I have been keeping up with the game since its announcement. As a current Everquest subscriber I see this as my next MMORPG.

I dont know how you can say you know more then us just because we dont agree with you.

I never said I know more then you but you don't even know one the the features of the game that I'm most looking forward to. You guys might know more in different areas then me, like spells or classes or something.

I'm sorry if I affended anyone.

Does anyone know what the housing system will be like? Will it be like Galaxies where you can place your house in a free enviorment where others can see its exterior as well as its intererior if you let them or will it be more like ffxi where its private place that doesnt really exist you for storage. (which would be lame as hell)

Houseing in EQ2 will be in an instance zone like FFXI but you can still invite people in so its like a mix of SWG and FFXI.

  • ZakorZakor Member UncommonPosts: 214
Just the fact that you can invite someone in your house is awsome! *clap clap at Sony*.. not like FFXI where no one can enter your house... to have some tea. hehe /cheer at EQ2!

    Now playing : FFXIV
    Waiting on : TBD
Best MMORPGs played : EQ, FFXI

"* Player-Owned Real Estate – Such as apartments, homes, and guild houses

    * Player-Owned Boats – Own ships and explore the oceans of Norrath

    Player Run Event System:

    * Arenas – Scheduled tournaments operated for players by players

    * Theaters – players can make money by hosting events (ie: weddings, poetry readings, etc.)"

This is taken straight form gamestop.com's description of the game and the features it includes.  I hope this clears up some of the debate.  It does seem that arenas will be under a player run event system and not an owning system.  This might just work like the bazaar stalls around the Shady Swashbuckler in East Commonlands where some guilds held events.  Or it could be a system where you pay money to hold a real event where maybe the GMs set up NPCs or special activites etc.  Only time will tell, but I think this should stop the arguing...
